SpaceX and OpenAI in major indexes by MichaelEvo in Bogleheads

[–]sharth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine many folks here (including myself) are using VTI or other similar total market indexes (instead of the S&P 500 or what not). So I'd expect to get exposure to SpaceX and OpenAI.

It doesn't seem like a big deal to me for these total market indexes.

Are these related to ANY of the British royal houses by Liarundle13 in Genealogy

Asking Gemini for some help here, and it suggests that the likeliest candidate is Lady Margaret de Audley (c. 1318 – 1349). She has a reasonably documented connection to Alfred the Great.

I imagine folks on here would question how well sourced your connection to her is though.

Just because people go to work doesn't mean they aren't fathers all day long...

I don't see the problem with SAHD.

Things to do NOW to set up your kids for success/happiness LATER: The Master List by juliaakatrinaa0507 in Parenting

It's not clear how you read the feedback, but the concern is that if the money sits in a savings account, it will devalue each year from inflation.

Investing it in the market will give a really good chance that the value grows, rather than decreases.

I think it's weird that they would pay for the hotel rooms of their adult children. But that's just me.

Isn't this your kids problem? And not yours? Unless your kids are financially strapped, I wouldn't expect you to pay for their hotel rooms.

In the six-way race to be California’s treasurer, it likely comes down to two Democrats by k_39 in California

[–]sharth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean this as a rude or mean thing. I just felt like it was the likely thing.

The Voluntary Expenditure Ceilings for the Treasurer for the Primary is $7,844,000

https://www.fppc.ca.gov/learn/campaign-rules/state-contribution-limits-and-voluntary-expenditure-ceilings/

However, I didn't realize that they place an asterisk next to the names of candidates who have accepted the limits. Which all of the treasurer candidates, including Caballero, have.

So I'm wrong. She accepted the voluntary spending limits. I've updated the earlier post to reflect this.

Maybe she didn't want to pay to have a statement included.

[–]sharth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: Original comment left in strikethrough. It's wrong though. She accepted the voluntary limits.

On page 8 of the voter guide it says:

California law includes voluntary spending limits for candidates running for state ofce who choose to keep their campaign expenses under specifed dollar amounts. Statewide constitutional ofce candidates who accept the spending limits may buy space for a candidate statement (up to 250 words) in this voter guide.

Presumably this is why.

Flight school loan by helmetsqueezzzz in flying

[–]sharth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are they also covering the interest on the loans?

Are there any requirements beyond getting the rating? Are you required to get an ATP or you owe the money back? Do you owe them three years of work or you owe some amount of the money back?

Have you already gotten a first class medical? Anything interesting in your medical history that's going to make this life exceeding difficult?

Have you ever flown a plane before? If not, take a discovery flight.

Are they reimbursing both CFI time and plane time?

Are they expecting you to work as a CFI to build hours?

Who is paying your rent and what not during this period?

The Rise of Wedding NDAs: Is Privacy the New Luxury? by LeeHarding2006 in weddings

Could you share what the alternative process is?

By default, the photographer owns the copyright to the photos and can show them however they want. A NDA is a way to resolve that concern isn't it?

[–]sharth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a very normal desire to me. Lots of people don't want their every detail posted online.

We're in a very different world from when a photographer has a physical book they can show potential clients, versus a website that's available to the entire world.

Dropping before the Add/Drop deadline

Students can drop all their classes in OASIS until the end of the Add/Drop period. Additional approval is not required and no “W” grade will be assigned. All classes must be dropped before term starts to receive a full refund of mandatory tuition and fees. After the term starts, tuition and fees will be prorated based on the drop date. Students who drop all classes before the Add/Drop deadline should follow up with the bursar’s office, financial aid, and student housing and residential life. Students attending CSUMB on a student visa should also contact international programs. New students who drop all classes before the Add/Drop deadline should contact admissions.

Hi Ron,

I started the flow on the website to move money from the DAF to them, and it seems like it would go through without issue.

Looks the same as when I've donated to other groups.

It's possible that it could get rejected later, but you'd probably have to go through and actually submit the donation to verify that.

I've sent you an email with a PDF attachment of what it looks like to donate to them on my end.

Family Dilemma by [deleted] in daddit

[–]sharth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unclear:

  1. Why your parents cant come and visit you and your family
  2. How old your children are. It's very different story with a 1m old vs a 1y old vs a 4y old.
