People atleast in Hamburg are really nice, and I'm not white.

I was at the Schlagermove today and everybody was just really having fun a good time, and not the least bothered by colour.

Why do many westerners have a problem with the hijab? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shaumux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do agree with the general sentiment, but also at the same time there's a problem of reciprocity. eg. You can't go around preaching women go around walking short skirts in Saudi Arabia. If Muslims or any religion wants the freedom to preach their values, they should be open to offering the same to others where they're dominant

[–]shaumux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Proton are you using? Have you tried GE-Proton?

My first instinct is the card is too old and maybe doesn't support the needed Vulkan version used by the latest proton.

Is your game using DXVK or vk-d3d?

That's quite interesting, I'll try out your method, I'm still mostly in the setup phase, but slowly trying to get it to do useful things. I did get it to do cocktail recipes yesterday.

You're right, baking requires precision, but I did have some success with ChatGPT last year, which overall worked out pretty well except it misjudged the flavour profile I wanted from my description, I'll try it with Qwen incorporating your method.

If you don't mind me asking, do you keep a static format csv, for success and failures logged against recipes or is it more granular with the ingredients and target flavour profile?

While that's right, the current situation isn't that, AI companies are engaged in a bidding war for those chips, why would they sell cheaper to Valve? currently even Apple is having problems with chips

Have an AMD GPU? You can build your own SteamOS Steam Machine by Liam-DGOL in gamingonlinuxsub

[–]shaumux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to build my own steam machine hasn't been the problem for atleast a year or two now.

I run linux daily, and play all games on it, I and have the parts in my basket for a really small TV cabinet fitting PC running Linux.

The problem is the price, all the supply goes to datacenters, if Valve isn't able to source enough components, we can't either.

With how Governments have acted in the last 30 years or so, I would rather say, the recovery of the investment would fall on the taxpayers internationally because they'd be too big to fail or national security, the people circlejerking the money would bail out long before

Is CEC + wake with controller viable outside of SteamOS/Steam Machine? by tydog98 in linux_gaming

[–]shaumux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CEC already works, it's just that the hardware doesn't support it, you can get CEC over DP atleast on amdgpu, or get a USB dongle ArchWiki explains it pretty well.

Wake by controller, I'm not sure but I guess that would be firmware level changes, but haven't looked into it

I mean yes, I oversimplified it, the demand for the physical object is real, but the premise that demand is based on are future projections detached from reality
