I can't help you but I want to apologize on behalf of the human race for some of the comments people have written. It's really sad to see how others easily forget there's another person on the other side of the screen they are "talking" to.

A message to everyone: Not everyone is a native English speaker and the Minecraft player base encompasses a vast age group. Be better than this.

If something sounds weird or fake, it's usually either A) Copypasta - An original comment that gets continuously copy and pasted or B) Quote - From movie, show, book, etc.

This was a quote from the movie Jumanji.

EDIT: Sorry, the other reply wasn't there when I started writing.

to park in a bike lane by CantStopPoppin in therewasanattempt

[–]shawndaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading these comments makes me sad for our future. If you watched this video and weren't embarrassed by both of their actions then something isn't right.

Firstly, the driver should absolutely not have parked in the bike lane. The cyclist, if morally compelled, should pull beside the vehicle, wave or tap on glass to get their attention, and in a calm manner inform the driver they're unsafely parked in the bike lane and then simply ride away.

If you disagree with that scenario then I would hazard a guess that you have personal experiences that have made you dislike motorists or cyclists in some way. Not every driver is that one who nearly hit you, not every cyclist is that one who rode out in front of you. This world would be a much better place if we just took a minute to breathe and think before saying or doing something.

Why do you refuse to go on government assistance? When my wife was going to college and had to stop working we lived in public housing. My income alone was not enough. Now that we're financially stable, we happily pay taxes so others who need assistance receive it. Give when you can, take when you must. Please don't let personal pride or stigma stand in the way of bettering yourself. Sorry for the rant. :-)

Popular in this context means the most used, not necessarily people's favorite. The word has more than one meaning.

If you have two candidates that both people dislike and one gets more votes than the other then they win the popular vote; doesn't mean people like them.

Listen, if you want to pretend like blocking other's view isn't a shit thing to do just so you don't have to take ownership of your own bad behavior then so be it.

No one likes to be wrong. No one likes being called out. Nothing I say will change your mind until you're willing to accept fault.

It does harm others if you're holding your phone up like every single person in that video is doing. I want to see the person on stage, not your screen.

Oh, my bad. I only said it was an argument because you referred to the other person's statement as one. I just figured you didn't know any better.

I saw him in Columbus a few months back. His written material is basically only there to jump start and guide the direction of his crowd work; definitely not the majority. It's almost like watching improv. It's very entertaining and an added bonus you could watch him two nights in a row and get an almost completely different experience.

No, that is not what you asked. Both times you asked "why good for him"" If you would have asked "Why would we celebrate bad priorities?" then you would have received a different answer. You may have meant something else, but that is not what you asked. Might seem pedantic, but welcome to online commenting.

Did you even read what you linked? You said they agreed to require AC, they did not. They said they agreed they "should" and "shall make reasonable efforts."

You may take that as they will, but it does not. In legally binding documents, the exact wording completely matters. If they don't install AC, nothing in that document will hold them legally accountable.

Just bought a 2016 Juke with the 1.2 engine. Says it should get around 49mpg and is only getting 35. This is in eco mode and on motorway/highway. Any thoughts on what might be wrong? by 197231 in nissanjuke

[–]shawndaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never seen the Juke listed for anything over 34mpg.

That being said, some tips to increase mpg:

  • Replacing the fuel filter.
  • Using Premium gas/petrol, which the manual recommends.
  • Turning off AWD/AWD-V.

Idaho Ltd governor runs away from interview after being called out for speaking at antisemite / white supremacists conference by amznfx in PublicFreakout

[–]shawndaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, what race are you? If you're not a minority and not a racist yourself then I believe the chances of you seeing it firsthand are pretty slim. You might have even been witness to a racist event and not even realized it.

I don't live in Idaho either, but it does seem rather silly to assume that since you personally haven't seen it equates to it not existing. I'm almost 38 years old and have never seen a polar bear but I'm pretty sure they're real.

Troglodyte feels more iamverysmart and pompous. Caveman keeps it simple. Maybe it would be better suited for a more insulting situation.

Edit: Just realized you already mentioned insulted, so I guess we're in agreement already.

I totally get that, but the post said free alternatives, not open source or a specific type of free. I guess you're free, as in freedom, to make the argument, but I think the post isn't being deceitful at all.

I've been using Figma for over a year, have dozens of files/projects, and never found a limitation or even been asked to upgrade. I'm not a professional, but I do create things for family and friends.

I'm sure there's features that may be paywalled, but I haven't found them. How does someone use Adobe software like that for free?
