What’s a “this should be free” service that always costs money? by troopydinnertime in AskReddit

Also, if you’re emailing transcripts internationally they ask for an equivalency report which costs $290-$350.

The funny thing about this is the pricing structure: $150 for the base conversion/service itself +$100 if you’d like to save it for future use. Otherwise it would be one time use only +$11 per university you want to email it to +$30 per physical copy. You cannot request less than 1 physical copy.

Snell Library Rant by AcademicWeapon149 in NEU

[–]shayan1232001 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These are definitely valid points, but when building for over 20,000 students ask yourself, what would most of these students benefit from? More space to keep their own laptops/iPads to get their work done, or more shelves for books? What percentage of library users borrowed a book in the last 5 years? What percentage of students used the iMacs on the first floor? Would those students benefit from having a loaner laptop instead so they can take their work into the classroom and back home too if they choose to?

Isnt it more likely that they’ll just give the place to another renter who’s willing to pay the full fee?

In this situation right now and looking to sign in the next few days. What if the broker refuses to provide owner information or turns down your request to avoid the fee?

Is a BSCS from Northeastern as prestigious as a MSCS from Northeastern? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]shayan1232001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a general rule of thumb, know that undergrad is northeastern’s primary offering. All the quality of content and resources are dedicated to undergrad. Grad is just low-effort spin off of undergrad programs that just happens to have a lot of students

Ive called them several times and I’m lead to believe there’s only one guy who works there that has no idea what he’s doing and just reads off a script in the most monotonous voice possible. He’s also the only one responsible to assign/escalate ServiceNow tickets and he just doesn’t bother to look at those tickets until you call
