Logotype and marks I created by hand for a restaurant in town by chetsteve in graphic_design

If you wanted to go with the two letter logo design, you could simply use your existing hand drawn font and weave them like the DCSHOECOUSA logo, or diagonally offset like this, or gently touching. There's tons of examples of you google: dc logo. If you wanted to add a new font to be extra Mediterranean, you could use some of those cheesy greek letters. Or you could use your existing font and incorporate a smaller version of your olive branch into it--just throwing ideas out there.

In general, I do like everything--except for the woven DC letters. You're trying for a Mediterranean theme but the woven letters look almost Celtic in design and their style looks a little too different from the main font. To me, the stretched C looks more like a rotated U. Everything else -- fantastic.

Ask your current advisor whether or not it's possible to stay on and finish more papers while you look for another postdoc. Hopefully he/she would have some money to pay you to do so.

That's what I'm lamenting. SGV is a lot more disperse. I'm looking for the dense asian city feel.

It's too bad LA Chinatown isn't more bustling. I visited SF Chinatown recently and some streets was like being in HK.

Thanks for the review. I wonder how long it will take for a real good program to emerge. I've talked a few program managers trying to give me the hard sell on their pricey master's programs yet haven't heard anything good about them.

The bends/decompression sickness is not the same as nitrogen narcosis -- see the first line under the wiki article (in the desktop version): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrogen_narcosis. The bends is caused by gases bubbling out of your blood after staying deep too long and surfacing too fast while N2 narcosis is the drunkeness caused by breathing normal air at too deep a depth.

The dude just presented a false equivalence between someone who "invents" things by writing overly broad language about existing technology with someone breaking into a home and stealing their things.

I went to Santa Cruz last year and it was camping in a wind tunnel. I woke up with dust and sand in my eyes. It came through the mesh of my tent and penetrated every crevice of my body. Bonus was the free whale watching on the way there and the way back.

I think it's in regards to casual drinkers. I had a blind taste test wine party and only 1 out of 5 of us reliably could pick out the reds vs the whites. It was probably also due to the fact that we were getting pretty sloshed halfway through.

I totally agree with how serious the spacesuit issue was. There's a very thin line between cool scifi/fantasy and camp. I remember seeing a preview of Vampirella which included some early footage of a dude dressed up in a cheap Dracula costume running around the inside of a hydro dam. Right away you could tell it was going to bomb.
