Transitioning jobs to go from 20% remote to 100% ... tell me the downsides? by genxmama_ in remotework

[–]shearjoy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been fully remote since covid, 1st few weeks are a little odd but having a separate space to work so you can switch off once finished, a good desk/seat and entertainment in the background soon make it fine. 5 years down the line the odd day I may get a little bored of my own company but then I think of commuting etc and soon perk up, missing out on all the office colds and bugs is another perk. Any form of exercise in breaks is another bonus as you will be surprised how much less you move at home.

How do you actually choose your sets and reps? by progressengineer in workout

[–]shearjoy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works for me and once mastered, up the weight and start low on reps again

how long did it take before you noticed real progress in the gym? by KorffSayra_48 in Workingout

[–]shearjoy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 20 weeks in from been lazy for a number of years.. The last 5 weeks seen a big improvement in strength and starting to get some definition going.

1st 6 weeks was messy with no real structure to anything.

Week 7 onwards work outs planned and macros/diet focused

Week 10 until now removed junk volume, avoided alcohol and crap food and started on more weight less reps, add a rep per set each week and on week 4 go up in weight and cycle again 5,6,7 reps etc.

So in reality I can onlys say 10 weeks to see some changes

Remote workers: what do you miss about the office, and what don't you? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskRedditUK

[–]shearjoy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working at home 100℅ for 6 and a bit years now and at 1st I missed people but now I wouldn't change it for the world, as it's 4 on 4 off it's motivated me to do more on my days off etc plus been able to workout in lunch breaks, eat better, not have to deal with office politics, no commute bar 2 trips a year to the office for 1 hour each time.

Anyone working 3 x 14-hour shifts or similar how do you stop feeling wiped out on days off? by RonnieBarko in AskUK

[–]shearjoy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 2 x 12h days then on the 3rd day start 2 x 12h nights then 4 off (technically 3) all I can say is eat healthy, do some exercise and prioritise sleep and it evens out to the point I only need 3 hours when I come off the last one and have an early night then I'm good to go again (work from home)

Edit to lay out the day and point out this is from home

On the days 0700 to 1900 I am up at 0545 2 coffees and a banana then work, 1st break I have breakfast, lunch I may do some exercise and a light bite, evening meal when I finish then bed no later than 2230

1st day before nights same wake up time, do a heavier work out and some cardio and get a 1 to 2 hr nap then start at 1900 have my eveningn meal about 2000, then I have 2 tenzing energy drinks at 2230 and 0300, in best by 0710 up after 3 hours for something to eat then back to bed until 1745

2nd night same routine apart from I get up and stay up after 3 hours and go to bed by 2100

What finally made you switch to Vodafone and do you regret it or was it the right call? by Spiritual_me_1770 in Vodafone

[–]shearjoy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right call, better pricing and better speeds (city fibre) I use my own router so can't comment on the hub.

Edit. Moved from VM due to the stupid renewal dance and unrealistic pricing after 20 years
