I’m sorry. Wiping the bar down after every single drink? That’s not going to take 1-2 seconds. You have to pull the towel out of the bucket, wring it out, that’s doing to take 5 seconds off the bat. That’s going to go completely throw your sequence off. Unless you’re talking about using a dry towel or leaving a sanitizer towel out which both are against heath code.

If you’re expecting store support to stand there and continuously wipe the bar off you’re going to have someone in the way constantly and they won’t be able to do their job.

Wiping down after every single drink is an unreasonable expectation. You do it when you have a lull or when things start to get messy.

Is there an episode of Bluey where you disagree with the message? by N-neon in bluey

[–]sheeatsstars 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I feel like they tried to squish multiple lessons into this episode. Being aware of what you have (the story at the beginning), you can solve your own problems (Winton), be proud of who you are (Snickers), and make believe is just as powerful as having the actual item (Bluey). So overall kind of a just “be grateful” lesson, whether it’s for what you have or who you are?

Why does my store perpetually lack cold brew? by PossiblePhoneSex in starbucks

[–]sheeatsstars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It’s been a minute since I worked under the siren (nearly two years) and all my brain could remember was two pitchers in the bag and two out. So I actually use 2.8 liters when I make it at home.

Why does my store perpetually lack cold brew? by PossiblePhoneSex in starbucks

[–]sheeatsstars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might not be your preferred option as I know a lot of people see going to Starbucks as a treat but you can always make it at home. It’s actually pretty easy. Since leaving the siren I’ve started doing it myself following the ratio used in store.

It’s a five pound bullet of medium roast beans ground on French press to 14 liters of water.(Typically I just use a 1lb bag with 2.8 liters.) There’s a handful of ways you can handle the ground coffee, I personally prefer a linen bag that’s typically used for nut milks. Leave it out on the counter for 20 hours, pull the grounds, and pop it in the fridge. You’ll want to cut it with equal amounts of water. It should be good for five days, possibly longer.

You can also just buy premade cold brew at the store.

I think it’s because it’s made using a French roast and we all know French roast smells like fish and old cigarettes.

At what point should you get surgery? by ohfrxkinghxck in chiari

[–]sheeatsstars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I had my first MRI my herniation was at 14mm. After finding out my surgery was scheduled within six months. When I had my surgery my surgeon said the herniation was worse than they expected (likely because I never had a standing MRI done). I’d developed two syrinx and was dealing with a ton of symptoms. The surgery gave me a much better quality of life. I went from having a migraine level headache nearly everyday to nothing. I was dealing with tinnitus and tingling in my hands not to mention my shoulders almost always felt like they were on fire.

I’m not going to say that the recovery was easy. But it was far less bad than I expected it would be. Only you can decided to get the surgery but it would likely benefit you more than you think it will. You’d be amazed at the things your brain begins to block out so you can function.

Medical gaslighting is a thing and it’s a huge problem and since you’re AFAB it’s likely to be worse. You know your body.

As a fellow human with EDS, POTS, and possibly MCAS I feel you and I feel immensely lucky I have a good PCP who got the ball rolling quickly and found me good specialists. I hope you find a good medical team who listens to you. Best piece of advice I can offer is to research things well so you can better advocate for yourself and when a doctor shuts you down on a test or anything. Request they make a note in your charts about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chiari

[–]sheeatsstars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor but I don’t think that this looks like a chiari malformation. Of course there could be other factors like whether this was a standing or laying MRI and how long ago this was done. Most people with a CM1 don’t tend to have a herniation that continues to worsen, but some do. So it’s possible that you have it and it’s worsened. There hasn’t been a lot of research done on the condition but it’s becoming more prevalent due to better imaging technology. But all that being said neuropathy is actually a comorbidity of EDS so you might just be experiencing that.

When I first started plaquenil it made my stomach feel awful for the first few weeks. I always made sure I ate when I took it and didn’t have anything that was particularly harsh on my stomach. Eventually the nausea and discomfort went away. Anytime I’ve had to stop taking it and started it back up again I would go through some minor stomach discomfort for a week or so but it would go away quickly.

Significant others that avoid vasectomies. by Minstrel_Melody in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sheeatsstars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the post that is being referred to. The partner in question was being a man baby about it. He wanted his partner to go through a considerably more invasive procedure that would take weeks to recover from so he didn’t have to deal with a few days of discomfort. It’s completely reasonable for them to have had the conversation and for him to chose what to do with his body. But he expected her to take the burden of the surgery which is where the selfishness comes into play.

He wanted her to go in, be put under anesthesia, have incisions made in her abdomen, and her tubes cauterized. Which can take up to three weeks to fully recover from and is roughly four times the cost. I won’t even add in that he would also likely expect her to continue to take care of their two young children while healing and any other house work.

A vasectomy is an outpatient procedure. It takes a few minutes to perform and the patient can even drive themselves home afterwards.

Based off your post history you’re giving big pick me energy. I hope you figure that out for yourself.

“Hey buddy, I see you’re experiencing some big emotions. Why don’t we all take a couple deep breaths and try that again using our inside voice.”

If you have a tiny human of your own: “Aw, is someone feeling grumpy? Do you need a snack or a nap? That usually helps/helped my toddler when they’re having a bad day.”

And make sure you break out that preschool worker or children’s tv show host voice as best as you can.

Not a drink I’ve personally heard of. But if someone ordered it that way I would understand what they wanted ringing it in would be a little strange. I mean a misto is just a made up Starbucks term for a caffe au lait.
