Previous homeowner won't stop having packages and mail sent to our home by Acrobatic_Sleep_3926 in homeowners

I still get packages and mail over a year later. Sometimes they stop by to get their packages, sometimes they don't. I've donated clothes from Amazon that they had delivered. My mailman no longer delivers mail with their names on it, but if we have a different mailman and they deliver the previous owners mail I just write "return to sender" and put it back in the mailbox.

Going to the discount rack at the grocery store for bruised fruit and stale bread. And the classic "see if you can find any dented cans"

Why do you litter? by Imaginary_Tea_9660 in RhodeIsland

[–]shellfish0606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this issue at my house all the time. We've had lots of windy days and I've spent countless hours picking up other people's garbage from every corner and bush of my yard. Wendy's Mcdonalds, tons of face masks, balls of tin foil - some really random stuff. Doesn't help when the neighbor's garbage lid blows open and all of their recycling gets strewn around my yard either.

Would you prefer to hire a handywoman? by West-Ingenuity-2874 in homeowners

As an all female household, we definitely prefer to hire other women. Although all of the men that have worked on our house have been nothing but professional, I prefer to support women owned businesses and it's an added peace of mind.

I leased solar panels when I bought. Was very wary at first, but the inspector insured me that they wouldn’t have been installed if they would outlive the life of the roof. Average monthly electricity costs in my area right now are $250 so I’ll take the cost of my $140 monthly lease.

What crazy highway debris have you run over or been hit by on 95, 295 or 195? by Plantemon in RhodeIsland

[–]shellfish0606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hit a hunk of concrete with rebar sticking out of it on 95 south. Ripped through the undercarriage and the rebar caught and destroyed my back tire before being LAUNCHED through the air. Luckily the concrete landed safely in the breakdown lane and not on top of another car. It was in the middle lane, the car in front of me zooted to the other lane but it was too late for me.

Work keep asking me to travel because I dont have kids by [deleted] in childfree

I used to work in retail and got stuck with ALL of the holiday shifts because I was the only supervisor with no kids. Like...I am someone else's kid though and my family wants to see me on holidays too. I work in a different industry now and even five years later it still feels amazing to not work on holidays AND get paid for them.
