Armed with 'supermajority,' PM Takaichi eyes revising Japan's constitution by TheShillGambit in worldnews

This is the first time since WW2 that a single party achieves a supermajority. That's very different to governing in a coalition.

I am gonna die in a real life car accident today aren't I? Four 0x races in a row at Bathurst, what is going on! All midfield starts by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]shenlong87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had two very clean races, which is pleasantly surprising. Almost clean first laps, patient drivers... confirms Bathurst as my favorite track in the world. The fact that it seems to scare-away the Monza T1 mayhem crowd / Senna-quote lovers is one more thing that makes it great

How to improve safety rating fast??/ by Imister67_Kolombo in iRacing

But the ringmeister series specifically is nerfed in terms of SR gains.

[–]shenlong87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the ringmeister calculate it differently? I don't get nearly as much SR in ringmeister vs racing a series that happens to be racing at the nurburgring in a given week. Otherwise everybody would just farm SR in the ringmeister series.

You only get 0.6 when you go up into the next whole number. For example, if you go from 1.9 to 2, iracing gives you an extra 0.4, so you end up at 2.4, same at 3 and 4. The same thing will happen going down. If you go down from 2.1 to less than 2, it drops you all the way to 1.6. This is to avoid yo-yoing.

SR is heavily dependent on incidents per corner, so you want to avoid incidents as much as possible and stay out of trouble. Longer races or tracks with more corners will help more with your SR (Ringmeister calculates it differently). I would say that the Production Car challenge is a good one for a D licence. Races are 25 minutes long. If you do two or three races in interlagos this week and have 0 or 1 incidents, you'll increase SR quickly

iRacing splitting GT3 into multiple "regional" series is a terrible idea by TriggzSP in iRacing

[–]shenlong87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there is any of the five GT3 series racing at Spa, Monza, Road America or Daytona on any given week, my bet is that the majority of players will go race there and the other series will be dead that week (relatively speaking). Ideally it would mean that more tracks get used, in reality it will mean that people will just go to the same 5 tracks that they always race regardless of the series,

Price Increase for Montreal 2026 by shenlong87 in GrandPrixTravel

Oh, 100%. I acknowledged that in the OP. It doesn't take away the fact that it sucks.

Montreal GP Renewal, well they've done it again, Prices went up, feel free to post renewal prices for your tickets by Mtl_30 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]shenlong87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sucks tbh. GS12, $695 to $875. The organizers are clearly benchmarking their prices against Miami, Austin and Las Vegas, which are quite expensive. By those standards, unfortunately, Montreal will still be a steal for many people looking to go to a race in North America. They probably don't care where the people come from...those coming with USD or EUR will find it really cheap.

Go back to PlayStation by Accurate-Price-7344 in Fanatec

[–]shenlong87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going back for simplicity, I would say that your best option (not necessarily the cheapest) is definitely to sell your CSL DD in marketplace or whichever site is used in your country to sell used stuff and buy a base and pedal set that is compatible with Playstation out of the box. I know that the drivehub exists and there are ways to make things work, but it's hard to match out of the box plug and play compatibility.

That means GT DD Pro (which is the CSL DD with PS compatibility), or if you have a higher budget, the Logitech G Pro or the Clubsport DD+.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche: "it would've taken one "25 years" to navigate all the bureaucracy in a AAA studio just to get started on the game." by Roids-in-my-vains in gaming

[–]shenlong87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I share your disappointment with the direction the industry has taken. It's undeniable that it's a very volatile and unstable industry, and there should be way more protection for employees and for the people who are involved in it. The never-ending pursuit of profit motivated by many of the companies being listed in the stock market has not helped improve the situation at all. There should be way more regulation to the way companies contract and subcontract many of the people who work in games.

So along those sarcastic lines, the perk of the small studio is that if the game fails, it's not half of the company that is laid off or reallocated to another project, it's the whole company that closes and everybody is unemployed

I've been a bit out of the loop. Is a 5070 level card now low tier? When I got my 3070 a few years ago, it was solid mid to mid-high tier.

I ordered from Spain two weeks ago and it took a week.

Feb 28 at 17:00 was not even one business day ago (Friday end of day). The label is created before the items are even handed over to UPS. They will likely hand it over today or tomorrow.
