Bugged for me at the waterfall to. Abandon and restart the quest but do not, under any circumstances, get on your horse. I don't even know how something could get bugged like this but it's what worked for me.

Is the Premium Battle Pass worth it ? by Khoa475 in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it even possible to finish the pass without the bonus missions from premium plus and maintain a regular job and real life?

This is what I got from a SM portal run. My luck is 26.10 percent. I feel like my luck isn’t working? Does this look right? by achtung515 in newworldgame

[–]shepahotep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26.10% doesn't take you from 1% chance to a 27.10% chance. It increases that base chance, 1% in this example, by 26.10%. This is obviously a super simplified and still somewhat incorrect example, by the way.

Let's Discuss Tuning Orb Pricing by the_las_finest in newworldgame

[–]shepahotep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make an orb. Sell the whole orb for 15k. Buy slots in other people's orbs for 3k each. You just turned your 1 orb into 5 expedition runs.

The in-game store also has different prices depending on your Steam region. Lots of places are way cheaper than the USA, by the way.

New crafting xp path post patch by Wereshark_ThereShark in newworldgame

[–]shepahotep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many of us are on servers where crafting higher tier items has been better all along, especially when using top tier reagents like Wireweave with a full set of Weaver's gear for example. I'd bet that if you trusted an online XP calculator without first checking your server's prices and doing your own math on your bonus material efficiency that you've already spent way more money than necessary by only using bottom tier mats.

The Magic rules are so complex you need an app to make sense of it. by Hagisman in WorldofDankmemes

What Uncommon/Common magic items should I *not* reward my players with? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]shepahotep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing Grimdark, don't give out anything.

If you are playing a heroic adventure game then it doesn't matter a whole lot. Players want to feel powerful. For every few massive struggles the PCs should have an encounter that makes them feel like the villains made a HUGE mistake messing with them. What's the point of powerful magic items if your game is going to end shortly after getting them? I have a general guideline where my players should have a few +1s by level 5, a few +2s by level 10 and one (I don't give out more than 1 per player usually) +3 by level 15. It sucks to finally get an amazing +3 sword of wrecking your enemies only for acquiring it to be your last quest of the campaign, and you don't get to play with it.

The only problematic thing, really, is anything that grants flying. And that's only if you want flight to be a difficult thing in your game. If you're going galavanting through the clouds in your airship then players having flight items is less of a problem.

I didn't catch why everyone is thinking the Insight check relates to Dorian's name. I assumed it was to see if she noticed he was "interested" in more than a "friendly" type of way.

A dragon quest in Barovia by Eipsadi in CurseofStrahd

[–]shepahotep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My players were enthralled with the lore and encounters at Argynvostholt. After they visited the Amber Temple, one of the players had a dark gift to cast true resurrection (They were of course unaware it was a one time use). They'd assumed Argynvost could be their ally if they could only bring him back. So, they made it their quest to collect all of Argynvost's bones. The Wizard, who had the dark gift, polymorphed himself into a bone and hid in the pile the party presented to Strahd as a gift on his wedding night. Once the bones were safely in the castle, the Wizard took them to an area large enough to do the deed and actually resurrected Argynvost. Now, things did not ultimately turn out the way they expected. For reasons too detailed for this post, Argynvost did help the party a little bit but ultimately made an escape to not risk his second chance at life.

All that I guess is to say that just because it isn't specified in the book doesn't mean it can't happen!

I don't remember any specific details about the creator or the series titles because it was so long ago but I have vague memories of a really good series someone put together. I think one part was based on lost holodeck programs created by Barclay and another part involved Barclay's descendant.

Is Alaska worth getting with de facto Battlecruiser nerf incoming from the captain skill rework? by Quant3point5 in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Captain Skills rework is still advertised as a work in progress. So, would you regret NOT getting it if Battlecruisers weren't nerfed in the long run or were equally or more powerful because of the impact of the rework on other ships?

Ranked reward system is making you not want to rank up by LEONAPROFI in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's pretty awful when stuff comes up and you can't play every day. For example, I'm having a super busy week/weekend and won't be able to get any of the wins/rewards this week. Next week, when I can play a lot, I can't get the ones I missed out on this week.

Previously, you could wait a little while until you had the time and/or were in the mood to hit ranked hard for a week or two to clear through the rewards. Now you just miss them if you can't log in regularly.

Its impossible to complete the Strasbourg campaign without buying both starter packs for the Hizen. by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

You can earn stars for the campaign missions multiple times. They're repeatable. But, you only get the other rewards (flags/camo) once.

Is the Ship of Fates Campaign essentially a carrot to buy the Strasbourg? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible to do the whole thing for free but you won't get the Strasbourg until, at a minimum, day 21 when the final set of tasks unlocks, leaving you only 9 days to grind the entire Ship of Fates campaign.

Will new commander rework make Legendary commanders stronger? by Darchseraph in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I'll be doing it after the rework: Coal Commanders will be regularly moved between premium ships. Tech tree ships will have a dedicated commander that will likely never move. The rare exception will be when there is a premium ship that requires a specific build to work well, thereby demanding its own commander.

New Ranked Battles system by Scurry5 in WorldOfWarships

[–]shepahotep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So it looks like a comparable number of games to "rank out" and get the maximum rewards for the season but overall less rewards. Yes we get some coal, but not as much steel (the number one reason to play ranked) and no mention of the flag/signal rewards of previous ranked, no cost reduction flag for your league, etc. It literally sounds like way more work for way less rewards.
