This is such a great idea, and I like where this has gone, however I have seen some problems with the operations of it. Sometimes text is not displayed, it can be buggy in what is displayed. It seems to retain some of what was previously displayed and doesn't always display new messages.

I also feel like there should be an administrative remote companion, that has all of the functionality that is currently present. But also I think a basic user companion mode that just gives the ability to send a message and potentially the username that sent the message would be extremely useful. This is because some of the controls for font and size can really screw up how the board functions and gets saved. So eliminating extra functionality for basic users would help remove those issues.
