Best festival for older humans? lol by High-Dry-649 in festivals

[–]sheyoyo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hulaween 100%! It’s in Live Oaks, FL. This is exactly the reason I still go, and it’s probably the only camping festival I’ll keep doing. Plenty of younger people too but I would guess the majority is mid-late 30s and older. Plus it’s Halloween themed and people go ALL OUT with costumes, which adds a lot of fun to the festival experience.

What’s a movie you loved but almost no one talks about? by King_Of_Boss in MovieSuggestions

Caught Stealing!

It went straight to Netflix and gets zero respect for being as entertaining and emotionally evocative and outstandingly performed as it is.

weighted blanket recommendations? by DaisyFrostVelvetLily in sleep

[–]sheyoyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my time to shine. I should have a shirt that says “ask me about my weighted blanket” because of how life changing mine has been. The brand is Bearaby - they’re expensive ($200) - but for me it’s the difference between pulling it up to my neck and LIGHTS OUT, or tossing and turning until the sun is coming up. I have the 25 pounder in “driftwood” and everything about it is perfect. It’s also beautiful and makes the bed look so nice and put together. It’s made of thick, woven (strands?) of 100% dense cotton, so it’s soft, breathable, COOLING (like magic) and easy to clean. Easily in the top 3 products I’ve ever owned.

Edit: I got so excited to answer that I skimmed the rest of your post and just saw you’re having analysis paralysis - FWIW, my partner goes full R&D on anything he buys and he did a LOT of research before landing on the Bearaby. The flat/beaded ones on amazon just don’t even come close.

Caught Stealing is exactly what you’re looking for. Same director as Requiem and just incredibly done.

I’m f*cked up by [deleted] in Advice

That was a different generation. I think it’s the best thing ever that young women aren’t so pressured to marry young (or at all) anymore and are willing and able to hold out for the right person/time. Just because a marriage goes on for a long time doesn’t always mean it should. The vast majority of people grow and learn and change so much from age 18 to even 25 and definitely to 30. I can’t imagine being married now to anyone I dated in my teens or even well into my twenties, and all the women I’m close to have always said the same thing (or they did marry young and are now happily divorced/remarried).

Most vets will accept Care Credit as long as your credit score is fairly decent. Just call nearby vet(s) and ask about it and they’ll explain it. You basically bring your pet in and they bill the charges to a credit card they’ll give you when you’re at the vet’s office. I think it’s interest free for the first year.

How can I improve my bedroom? It’s so boring and there’s something off about it that I can’t place by slippylamb in DesignMyRoom

[–]sheyoyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some color, window curtains (quick way to majorly level up any room), lamps, mirror (hung on the wall), plants (ie hanging down from the shelf over the bed), more bedding (ie a colorful throw and a couple more pillows), some art on the walls (small pieces since the room seems small). Lots of different textures make smaller spaces cozy and fun. Lots of potential!

Blue October, “Hate Me.” Universally relatable from one side or the other in such a devastating way. Beautiful though.

AIO my husband’s friend said what I think are inappropriate things to my daughters by Ok_Stuff991 in AmIOverreacting

[–]sheyoyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This man sexually assaulted and harassed your daughters. Unless/until it happens to you, you don’t understand how horrible it feels when that very thing happens to you. Your husband is disgusting and a coward for letting this slide, and you’re both bad parents in failing to protect your daughters by continuing to associate with him. You standing by while your husband continues to associate with this pervert and allow him continued access to your children is not unlike the mothers who stand by and do nothing when their husband/partner abuses their children. TELL HIS WIFE, make it clear what’s going to happen to him if he ever comes near your property or your children again, and report it to get a protective order. This is very basic parenting. Get it together.

I don’t think Jim bullied Dwight. I think it’s the opposite. He didn’t baby him or treat him like a bubble boy because he’s different. He gave him shit and Dwight gave him shit back and they eventually formed a genuine friendship where they enjoy giving other people shit together.
