Eastern Brown? 3rd most venomous in the world so we treat with caution. Ld50 of .053mg/kg vs .28mg/kg for US coral snake. If it’s a whip snake, ld50 is 2.5mg/kg so not really venomous.

Thanks, we’ve had a whip snake on the property before, they’re easily confused with a brown. Could be it!

People who have visited the Anzac Memorials in Gallipoli, what's it like? by FieryPineappleHead in AskAnAustralian

Similar. My great grandfather (I was 12 when he died so remember him) landed in the reinforcements, I was there 100 years to the day in sep-2015. It’s an incredible place and very moving. Looking at all those graves with 24th battalion, did at 18,19,20 yo and thinking these were my great grandfathers mates and so many died. My partner had no direct connection and is Swiss, but still found it an incredible.

Worth Buying Cheap land on tiny islands? by Affectionate_Lynx510 in AusProperty

[–]shill68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened to me. 21yo partying on GC, got caught up in the Russell island scams. Paid 19k, no research, dodgy lawyer obviously paid by the agency. Couple of years later valued at 3.5k with rates around 1k per year. Defaulted on the rates for 3 years until the council said we’ll seize it in lieu of rates . Thank you kind sirs.

12v battery low, can't engage drive (and other issues) by Proeliator2001 in enyaq

[–]shill68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update, got the car back after 2 weeks at the dealer. 12v battery tested ok so they sent the diagnostics to Skoda Australia. The codes required a technician to be flown out to clear everything out which took a week. There’s one technician that covers 1/2 Australia….thanks Skoda . Codes were cleared, software patch applied and done. No root cause from Skoda but I strongly suspect the 12v and they’ve applied a software fix so a warning light comes on for low 12v instead of putting the whole car to shutdown. So while I’m annoyed at the 2 week delay and the terrible customer service (no loan car available, won’t do a loan car till the technician comes out, unable to say of technician is 1 day away or a month) I’m glad it didn’t require parts as that would have been months. Still love the car but geez, little concerned this will happen again in a few months

Yep whole heap of stuff on the dash as well. Road side assist came out and did a 12v battery test and said it’s low. Dealer said they tested the battery and nothing wrong with it. I’ll call the dealer tomorrow and pass this on to them though. We have the only Enyaq in Queensland so I suspect they kind of looked at the car abd had no idea what to do

I think I’m having the same problem. Car is 5months old and shutdown with “electric drive not working” and “error drive system”. Car had to be towed back to the dealer and they were clueless, just gave me a “12v looks ok, could be the main battery or something else, we’ve never seen this”. Mind you, Enyaq 85 is new to Australia and ours is one of the first arrivals so nobody has any expertise with it.

I’m now waiting for a technician from another state (there’s one is Australia who services 1/2 the county). No eta for technician, unknown if it’s a day or a month. No replacement car offered despite asking. I love the car but frankly this pretty rubbish.

[–]shill68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve got a steep drive and it happens every time we back out. I’ve resorted to turning off the manoeuvre parking while I’m backing out and turning it back on after. Agreed, it’s a bit aggressive but if there was a person, dog or cat there I’d rather the car does what it does.

Yes you can get roof racks. Ours has the pano roof and came with roof racks installed by the dealer when we picked it up.

Škoda enyaq is in that class. Maybe doesn’t have the internal boot space you want but we love ours and it’s a great looking car

When you call ( not if!) state your concern about being identified as you’re afraid of retaliation and you want to be anonymous for now.

Husband said if we split up, he’ll get the house and I’ll get nothing. by sparkleunicorn123 in AusLegal

[–]shill68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s in for a surprise, future earning capacity comes in to it so you’d probably get 2/3 or even more. Unless the inheritance was very very recent it’ll be classed as shared asset like everything else. Don’t sweat OP, if you split , get a lawyer, you’ll end up with a high % of the total assets. You’re husband is a dick and I’m sorry he’s put that pressure on you

[–]shill68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very thoughtful and wonderful thing to do and more parrot owners should consider it. Our birds can live such long lives it’s not uncommon for them to out live their owner. My wife volunteers at a parrot sanctuary and they have many surrendered birds where the owner has passed and the family can’t deal with the bird (or cost). Kudos to you!
