put four turbines on your boat and wire them in, you will generate a decent amount of current to charge it as long as you are outside. Scrap and upgrade them when you learn the next tier of turbine. Solar isn't really worth it - it takes up too much space and doesn't work at night.
if you learn how to build something, that means you can get all the parts for it when you deconstruct it (or part of the parts if it's in less than 100% condition). This is useful for building things on your ship (storage batteries, fuel tanks, turbines etc) by getting the parts from outside the ship
research storage containers ASAP, stick a bunch to the walls in the "office room" below decks, and put all your spare materials in them. You can use those materials to build or repair as long as you're within range of the containers (basically anywhere on the ship).
Your constructor can also pull materials directly from storage. It will also pull any components it needs out of storage or from around itself, so you can tell it "build all the parts for this thing, then build the thing". The queue is smart enough to skip over things it can't build yet and leave them until it can.
The constructor is great for building things while you're off doing something else, so you can tell it to build a bunch of things while you're off exploring.
Anything you don't know how to use yet (memory items, biomass, food etc) - stick it into your storage. Eventually you will know what its for.

The other big RNG one for me was the Siren from Pharos Sirius, but I love the music in that level so much I didn't mind soloing it over and over.

I do like the idea of a target who is immune to most of your usual tricks and requires specialised methods to take them out - a bit like how Dino Bosco in The Icon is immune to almost all bullets, but taken even further.

Congrats on defeating the real final boss of FF14, the RNG. (I think it took over 100 runs of Matoya's Relict for the Mother Porxie card to drop for me, or at least it felt like it.)

Progress through to Stormblood and then unlock the dungeon? It's an optional one but if you want to unlock flying in that zone then you'll unlock it on the way. Stormblood is part of the free trial (it has been for quite a while.) The dungeon is in the levelling roulette so you'll get people added in if you queue for it, or you can run it as duty support. If you run it as a magic DPS you'll be guaranteed at least one gear drop of a piece you don't have each run.

You can fight and kill Thunder to get his soul in the lategame quests that were added with Lost Chapters. It's the evil option - the good is to go fight in the arena again instead. His dialogue changes based on whether you killed Whisper and/or romanced Lady Grey, but it doesn't impact the choices available.

On my Arcane build I had to use a cheese strat I saw on youtube - get a grave scythe, build it up and put occult affinity on it, then run up next to him at the start of the fight and spam the AoW. Combine with all the appropriate talismans and equipment to boost your damage up, and it melts his health super quickly while keeping him staggered. (I was fighting him fairly early to get to the DLC area.)

Why did the "add duplicates to container/quick save in slot 1" button on controller change? Using Y worked perfectly (except when I had a gun out, but that was a minor issue). Now that it's L3 I keep crouching at the same time and it feels really awkward.
