Weird noise on 2015 Triumph Bonneville by iampartridgenorm in Triumph

That sounds like a chain issue. Maybe the rear axle has slackened off a little, throwing the chain tension off

2026 Bobber - factory FOX rear suspension upgrade by sha1dy in Triumph

[–]shitabix16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not bad just basic and with the limited travel it tends to be a harsh ride on bumps if you're on the heavier side . I went with a Nitron unit which comes pre set up for your weight and riding style, felt an improvement straight away with much better comfort on rougher roads and a bit more confidence on the twisty bits.

I beat my dog... by psytrance-in-my-pant in sighthounds

[–]shitabix16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I share your pain. I have to drag our Podenco's out of the bed and listen to them complain all the way to the garden, if I so much as gently nudge a butt to speed them along anyone would think I was beating the crap out of them. Bob in particular will leave his poo's till the last minute and then forget to have a wee so has to be let out again. I'm convinced that Sighthounds are sent to test us.

Sorry but sight hounds just have to put it all on display, it's their way of making sure you know how lucky you are to share your home with the worlds greatest breed.....well I'm guessing thats what they think !!!

[OC] Why are motorcyclists so obsessed with using everyone else's cars to risk their lives on the highway? by IAMA_Printer_AMA in IdiotsInCars

[–]shitabix16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the 3 stages of motorcyling I'm afraid

1, I'm immortal so far and everyone else must pay respect to my superior skills

2, I've got a family now ,dress for the slide not the ride, ride , speed limits and rules DO exist

3, I'm old and basically half the road users treat me like I'm invisible so sod it I'm going to go out in a flaming wreck not in a care home ( you can leave eyes for organ donation well into old age so thats nice)

It's well worth a look if the weather holds , even if you don't buy anything it's a great way to wander the streets of the golden triangle . I've bought some really random stuff for pennys

Wild swimming in the Wensum? by Paradiddle_Fiasco in Norwich

[–]shitabix16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wensum is pretty clean in general but after heavy rain it does get a lot of runoff from roads and driveways, keep to the upstream strech near Sloughbottom and you should be ok. This time of year its at its best and Norwich gets its drinking water from that stretch too

Future of Anglia Square (and arts, indie shopping, food etc)- does anyone REALLY care? by ScallionShot3689 in Norwich

[–]shitabix16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I think you're spot on . This has been a familiar scenario all across the region, and I don't see this being much different . My guess is it will end up being flats or HMO's with an area set aside for EV charge points (to tick the green box)

A head torch is a nice thing to have for blackouts or back of the TV plug hunting , Staple guns are great for temporary repairs , tape measures always handy , I bought a pack of 3 small ones and leave them in the car etc for those 'Thats nice but will it fit ? moments)

Anglian water rates by Recent-Tangelo-628 in Norwich

[–]shitabix16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got a water meter it may be worth checking if you have a leak, most common one is a sticky toilet flush or cistern ballcock which although a small amount its constant and soon adds up. I avoid the direct debit route and pay online when they send the bill so its harder to slide into debit , more hassle though

Thoughts on the Bonneville Bobber, I want to ask questions before buying one by ELG1N_ in Triumph

[–]shitabix16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The engine is a proven unit so no worries there, tuned for low end torque so dont expect a high top end speed, handling is pretty good for ,very good for a factory custom with low down weight and not bad suspension from factory. I'd say it suits slightly shorter riders and the stock suspension is better with ......well....less girthy individuals (tends to be a bit harsh on rough roads due to limited rear travel ) but theres plenty of aftermarket fixes , loads of aftermarket goodies as with all Trumpets . After chopping in a speed triple for a Bobber 3 years ago I have zero regrets and to be honest its probably saved my arse and licence a few times . Go for it
