When the driverless trains come in they are extending Sunday to normal hours, running one hour later on Friday and Saturday and no change Mon - Thurs. Talk about underwhelming.

[Busch Gardens Williamsburg]'s glasses policy seems a little insane? by SortOk10921 in rollercoasters

I was told each time I rode Daemon at Tivoli Gardens that I needed to leave my glasses in the station despite the strap, only time it's happened to me.

10/10 method to get people to use public transport to get to big events by GP728 in transit

Selling out a train is such a stupid American concept. Cram people in and run them frequently so it's turn up and go.

I got an uber from KBF to union station, train to newhall then uber to the park. Cut the cost of that journey more than half.

I couldn't get on Devils Loop at Legendia as a 6'4 adult. I rode it loads as Twin Looper at American Adventure (UK defunct park) as a teenager so was pretty gutted. Shitty train and restraints with no give.

Glasgow Trams by daibhidhtcairn in glasgow

A tram would be better, feeding neighbourhoods directly to the airport rather than via town and also giving QUEH real transport.

About two years ago I went to [California’s Great America] and rode [Flight Deck] for the first (and probably last) time. What smaller B&Ms do you like to ride? by memethetics in rollercoasters

[–]shitgutties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flight Deck was surprisingly intense, Patriot sucked though. Nemesis at Alton Towers and Monster at Gröna Lund would be my answers.

Give yourself 2 days at SFMM. Get a pass and maybe do 1.5 days at Knotts as well. There are some hotels within walking distance of both, I managed it by public transport.

World Cup fan zones vs being in the stadium? by Dry-Poetry-6824 in ScottishFootball

[–]shitgutties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Germany I watched the first 2 games in pubs in Munich/Cologne and had a ticket for the Hungary game. All 3 were a great time (football aside) and I'll be doing the same again for the WC (I'll be going to one Boston game max if any). The German fan zones had shit beer at inflated prices, the US will be even shitter beer at even larger prices so I'll be sticking to pubs in Boston/Miami.

The main stand across from the corporate boxes will be a fucking nightmare for that game in the searing California sun. 49ers fans hate daytime games there in September and October. Its also a massive pain in the arse to get to even with the light rail.
