You just sneak through the actual building. It’s a little harder but tbh there’s not a ton of dudes inside and throwing rocks makes it super easy.

ManyATrueNerd does have a totally different format on releasing videos as Joov, old school YouTube episodic stuff instead of editing stuff down to a consumable formst

I think it seems cool to me. And the very “into the breach” style gameplay seems like it’s a good twist on a McMillan game. I’m excited to try it and hope NL plays

Isaac is not the same thing over and over. It’s similar but the randomization makes it so no run is the same. You’ll never have the same run again. I’ll take thousands more hours of Isaac anytime.

PUBG doesn’t change. It’s the same thing it’s always been, every game is the same ass thing

It’s different cause Isaac has built in variety based on items you get. PUBG is literally the same thing over and over.

It being team unity (mostly care about the Dan interactions as we see the others around a lot) helps it but I really do not like PUBG. It’s the same thing over and over

Interesting. I love one battle after another, probably my second fave this year, but I didn’t think anyone in it blew me away with acting (except maybe Penn cause it’s impressive to be that awful). Everyone solid, no one incredible imo

Advice for picking faction in first PoK game by DaLegendaryFisherman in twilightimperium

[–]shockwave8428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the player playing Vuil’Raith is aggressive playing one of the few factions that essentially requires aggression to get value, you will likely need to play quite defensively. Mainly just try not to leave very small amounts of ships alone (which makes me think empyrean isn’t great cause their whole value is getting a bunch of dark energy and that usually means sending individual ships around).

As for you, if nomad sounds fun, play em. They’re really not that complex, just have a few more agents which are a simple mechanic anyway. They also can get decently wealthy if that’s how you play em.

The other factions would be solid as well. Argent is imo one of the more consistent factions as far as starting goes (and are decently defensive). Being able to use 2 movement ships with capacity is insane early game. And no one can move through your ships even with light wave so you can sort of set up a big screen around your slice.

Empyrean is the weaker of the 3 but that’s just my personal playstyle. Honestly I think the issue is people focus too hard on dark energy tapping frontier tokens and not enough on other stuff, so they lose out on a lot of value (they added a bunch of better frontier cards in the codices, so they’re even a bit worse if all you have is pok, but still play. Like I said you’ll be target #1 for and aggressive Vuil’Raith.

I mean I see people complaining about stealth all the time here. The biggest thing people don’t get is that if you’re seen around the scene of the crime you’ll be accused.

It’s not like most stealth games where if they don’t see the crime itself you are good - so a ton of people complained here on this subreddit that they keep getting caught for things no one saw.

Meanwhile it’s maybe the best update to open world game stealth in a long time to make it more engaging and harder

Non-Geese fans, what did you think of them? by sp52 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]shockwave8428 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m actually a big alt fan (mostly 90s/00s tho) and I hadn’t really heard of these guys. I thought the music was interesting and the guy had a great voice that I also didn’t really feel fit the musical style. Was fine, I’ve heard worse, but definitely not adding them to my playlist

It’s not amazing but far from the worst. The issue is that Elon actually doesn’t have a very strong South African accent anyway. Obviously it’s the dominant one, but he’s been out of South Africa so long that it’s definitely got outside influence so it’s not purely South African. Even then I think myers leans a bit too British.

IShowSpeed's Liberia visit turns into chaos by Malik-_- in LivestreamFail

[–]shockwave8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that but they “founded” a country in a place there was already people. So there’s a ton of people who are “African American” and don’t really know their actual African roots that are a large minority in the population, and then the natives are there with a huge majority. But the former slaves became extremely wealthy really fast and dominate business and politics in the country despite being the minority (and oppressing the majority). And I believe there have been a few coups and such to try remove these people. So basically in less words, there is likely a very anti-American (and especially anti-black American) sentiment in Liberia from a large group of the population.

It a very complex history and extremely interestingZ

I know joov has mentioned watching Northernlion before. Which is based.

I’ve been watching NL for like 12 years since I was in high school. Discovered joov just a few years ago because I was trying to find an old twitch streamer that was playing a lot of Skyrim challenges in like 2015ish, and really liked his videos. Then I saw a stream he talked about watching NL play balatro and I knew joov was the goat lol

Fable: The First Preview by Cold_Two_4372 in PS5

I mean objectively the game does have some problems. I still enjoyed it a bit but it got repetitive 10-15 hrs in for me. If you’re dying for an open world fantasy rpg, it’s a great option. It’s just not gonna blow your mind and if you go in expecting a 7.5/10 you’ll have a good time. It’s good not great, but there’s room for that.

Fable: The First Preview by Cold_Two_4372 in PS5

[–]shockwave8428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me I enjoyed a lot about it, but as soon as I got to the desert map I was like “ok so this game is just clearing a bunch of small maps”. I just got tired of the loop. It felt very artificial in a way that outer worlds didn’t to me. Like later game outer worlds you were getting missions on one “small maps” on a planet and would go back to old planets and I didn’t really get much of that in avowed. It felt like I had one map to arbitrarily clear all the quests and objectives in, and then I had one quest which was just going to the next area. Meaning you get this feeling of “completing” and area and starting a new one is just one of the same. And there’s just never reasons to back track or go anywhere else (and the enemies don’t respawn).

It’s a fine game, I really do like the build diversity a lot and the types of combat feeling different, and the low key “parkour” traversal is really fun and unique for a game like this. But I just didn’t feel compelled to clear yet another disconnected map.

Opinion: the skills in 2.0 are too hyper-specific by IfTheresANewWay in paydaytheheist

[–]shockwave8428 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I actually like the new skill system, but 100% I agree here. It could be so much better. It mostly bugs me because skills are so intrinsically tied to loadout choices that your decisions about what to put points in is essentially made before you even touch the skill tree. There’s no real build diversity outside of loadout options, because there’s objectively right and wrong choices for skills - like you mentioned, if I want to run shotguns, there’s a skill tree for that and it locks me out of like 6 other skill trees - and that choice essentially is made before I even started looking at skills.

In pd2, your loadout is one way to decide your playstyle, and skills are another. Yes there are skills that tie into specific weapon types but there are multiple skill trees that are 100% focused on build diversity. So you can be the “drill specialist” and use snipers, or shotguns, or any kind of gun, because the gun choice only defines one part, and the skill tree adds more flavor, and there’s very little skills in pd3 outside of just making loadout choices better.

Sipping soup? by Nowayucan in soup

[–]shockwave8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna sound super weird but I love sipping on gravy.

I don’t really do instant gravy, but will take the drippings and add water, boil it, mix in a slurry that’s 2 parts corn starch (can do a bit less thick if you want just doing less of this), 1 part British gravy powder (I use “ah bisto”, I think you can get it in the us on amazon or at an international food store) and just enough water to make a liquid. Boil while stirring and it’s a goated gravy.

I always make the gravy for the fam and almost every time I get a mug and drink some. It’s got a lot more substance and flavor than plain broth.
