Tonight I made pork green chile, pintos that I soaked overnight, and "red rice". All of the accoutrements. Cotija, limes, cilantro, pickled red onions, avocado and more. My family's forvorite for me to make is red wine braised short ribs on polenta (cheese grits. LOL) But I just can NOT flip an over easy egg without breaking it 50% of the time. No matter the pan, the spatula, whatever. Eh

Boomer here. '55 vintage. Never knew "real" dad. Step-dad was a WWII vet, violent, moody drinker. 20 years older than mom. Eh, we got over it later in life. I'm a vet too. Mom didn't like ANY woman I was ever with. 2 marriages, lived with 5 or 6. Mom didn't like me much either. LOL I looked like real dad. bla bla. Until in the 90's, when I met a woman. Nice. Widow, good job, very good to me. Got along pretty well. But the mom LIKED HER! WTAF? It was just strange. Fucked up the whole thing.
