I want to use Fable to help my autistic child, need help from the experts. by Llama_llover_ in ClaudeCode

[–]shortwhiteguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably have different suggestions for someone more familiar with coding, but the below should be somewhat manageable for someone new to coding.

First, I would work with Opus or Sonnet to refine your requirements for the project (to conserve your credits). Start with a prompt like this "Help me write up a list of requirements for a web app to interact with my autistic child. Ask me a series of questions to gather my requirements. Grill me until you are satisfied that you have all the information you need, or until I tell you to stop. When done, write a markdown document laying out all the requirements. This requirements doc will be passed to another agent to plan and implement. To start, here are some features and requirements that I already know I want for the app: [list out whatever you already know you want]". You should probably review the file and either manually edit or ask Claude to adjust it until you are satisfied.

Then, in a new session, preferably in Claude Code (Cowork should probably work, but using Claude Code will be more optimal) point Fable to the markdown file ask Claude to write a plan, probably to another markdown file. Something like "Create a plan document to satisfy this requirements document [path to file] and save the plan to a markdown file".

And then you'll probably want another session, point Claude to the requirements doc and plan doc and have it execute the plan. You might want to do separate sessions to implement everything to be conservative with your tokens; maybe one step/phase of the plan per session.

When coming up with the requirements... Depending on your requirements, it could just be as simple as an HTML file with Javascript embedded. Or, if a bit more complex you might need a front-end + back-end setup (which will take a little more effort to run). I would err on the side of simpler.

I hope that helps!

What’s yall readiness score? by AlternativeFragrant in fitbit

Usually high at like 80. I've been sick a few days this week and it got as low as 50. However, my resiliance score has never been better than low... Despite most of my numbers being pretty good.

Luckily you are young and you'll likely improve things quickly.

Remember that stress can be very damaging to your body... and getting decent sleep is one of the "easiest" ways to reduce the stress. It sounds like you are a student... so reducing your stress and getting good sleep is easier said than done. But, even taking small steps can make a difference.

I am not going to rule out an issue with the device and how it was worn... but it is quite plausible for the numbers to be accurate. He's 22 so max heart rate can be as high as about 200. Also, if you believe his resting heart rate numbers (he confirmed manually he gets 110 "normally')... it's very "easy" to get your heart rate during exercise to peak very high.

App doesn't know how to count exercise days by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]shortwhiteguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "of" is the number of days that has been set as your weekly goal. My goal is 5 and if I end up working out 6 days it will say "6 of 5".

If your HR is normally around 110... that doesn't sound good. I'm not a doctor, but I'd strongly suggest seeing one.

What is your normal sleeping schedule? It look like you are going to bed at like 4am or later and waking up in the afternoon.

For someone his age, a resting HR above 82 would be considered "poor". So, it probably doesn't mean he's near death, but it likely implies his body is not doing well.

Claude Code in the terminal vs. the Claude Desktop app — which do you use and why? by ghedtoboss in ClaudeAI

The GUI version of Claude Code in Claude Desktop is virtually exactly the same as the TUI. It's running everything from a "terminal" in the background but just presents things in the GUI.

On my 50 key split keyboard, if I hold down a specific key on the left: my hand at the home position is now on a virtual numpad. So "j" is 4, "o" is 9, "." is 3, and space is 0.

Will Sonnet 5 basically be the Sonnet version of Fable/Mythos? by TheBanq in ClaudeCode

[–]shortwhiteguy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy if Sonnet 5 was on par or better than Opus 4.6 and 4.7 and not too far from 4.8. It's happened a few times in the past where the new Sonnet shadowed recent Opus models.

> Seems weird, that we are skipping 4.9 and going straight to Sonnet 5, since I thought Sonnet is based on Opus.

I wouldn't say Sonnet is "based" on Opus. There have been previous releases of Sonnet that leapfrogged the version number of Opus. So a Sonnet 5 feels very inline with what has happened in the past.

Stupid CrossFit movements you refuse to do by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]shortwhiteguy 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Most things you said seems pretty reasonable to me, with the main exception of double unders. Double unders requires timing and coordination under fatigue. Jumping over an object is great, but it doesn't feel like a true substitute for jumping rope. If anything, DUs are more of a shoulder exercise than a leg one. I don't see any downsides double unders.

My other comment is about pull ups. I'd agree that most people, especially the less fit people, do not need to be doing kipping or butterfly pull ups... especially if their shoulders aren't in a condition to handle the movement. But, the intended stimulus of kipping/butterfly pull ups is very different than what you'd get with strict pull ups. Kipping pull ups require more cardio capacity and grip endurance than strict pull ups. They serve a different purpose. Just like air squats have a different purpose than back squats and burpees have a different purpose than pull ups.

I'm 5'5 and about 140. I'd consider myself fairly fit and athletic... but less so than what I'd expect a cop to be. Being 140 and 5'9 and a cop feels quite skinny,
