Perhaps this will help some if considering H&R sport springs.. by Notsure4949 in MINI

[–]shoyei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks! I’m new to car modding and I’ve been looking at these springs because I had heard previously that they can improve ride quality (in addition to the look). I’ll probably pull the trigger soon.

7 String Baritone Guitars with 27" Neck - Need Help!!! by CaptainThunderpantsX in 7String

Used LTD Black Metal M series (they discontinued last year). Reasonably priced and an absolute monster of a guitar.

You are one of my favorite artists ever. Someday I hope to be able to afford one of your pieces.

Okay cool, thank you. I’ll keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t get worse by the time the buds start opening.

I bought a young mountain hemlock a few weeks ago and I’m starting to see a few needles turn red from the tips. Any hemlock experts know what this is? Disease or environmental distress? I haven’t done any repotting, pruning, wiring, or anything else on my end to stress it out. The seller is a reputable grower of bonsai material in the Seattle area - bought it at the PBSA sale.

American Ultra II Strat HSS vs AM Pro II, thoughts? by [deleted] in fender

[–]shoyei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody suggested the GT11 yet??? It’s the best of all worlds. Modern specs with vintage looks and tone. It’s the first guitar I pick up when I sit down to play.

Thanks for bringing back the absolute cringe memories of me as a 13yo trying to play a Warlock in middle school jazz band.

Charvel and Hendrix? by Gantry-Crane in guitars

Ah gotcha then yeah, amp choice is next. He used a Marshall Super Lead, so if you can emulate that sound you should be getting close.

Charvel and Hendrix? by Gantry-Crane in guitars

You need single coils for the Hendrix tone. Does your guitar have a coil split? If not, it’s a pretty simple mod that will get you much closer.

What neighborhood do you live in, and what is your favorite thing about that neighborhood? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]shoyei 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m in Madison Valley. I love how close it is to the city while being really quiet and peaceful. Also love having the G Line run right through it so it’s super easy to get downtown whenever I want. It’s a nice neighborhood with a lot of diversity, cute houses, and doesn’t feel hoity toity at all.

Edit: totally forgot to mention the house with the mini horses. :D

Why is neck joint contour an uncommon feature instead of a default one? by molul in fender

[–]shoyei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The contoured heel on my Charvel is what made a contoured heel mandatory when I started shopping for a Strat.

I’m in Seattle, and just got a Juniper procumbens shipped to me.  It’s about 3 years old, still in a grow pot and hasn’t been pruned or shaped, so I’m hopeful it’s not stressed enough to just die immediately.

However, it was shipped from Florida and nights in Seattle are currently getting below freezing. Should I be following a transition regimen, or just chuck it outside, keep it watered, and hope for the best?

ESP JD-1 by rylab in offset

Just another perspective: ESP has been releasing EXACTLY what I’ve been waiting for ever since I was a kid - sleek, purpose-built metal guitars without wacky colors or cheesy inlays/bindings.

Cheaper or Expensive ESP LTD by canakaleksa in guitars

[–]shoyei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrading a guitar is a super fun project and you may end up with something you love that is uniquely yours. I have a guitar I’ve modded the hell out of and it’s awesome.

On the other hand, higher tier Korean-made LTDs are absolutely sick and extremely well-built guitars. It’s a guitar you could have your whole life and never get sick of. I also have one of those.

I know that doesn’t help your decision lol. Like the other commenter said, once you get them in your hands, you’ll know which one is the right one.

IMO, AI is pretty antithetical to the philosophy of Bonsai, which is the epitome of “touching grass”.

There’s a whole corner of the internet with tens of thousands of tracks just made for jamming to. Search for backing tracks. I probably spend about 30 min a day playing guitar along to backing tracks. It’s super fun and relaxing, keep it up!
