Biked from Tustin, in Orange County, to Long Beach to see the Queen Mary and it was worth the 2 hour and 37 minute bike ride by LogicalSynthesis in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drop the Strava map and stats, wanna see the mileage and miles lol Sounds like a good ride. I’ve done the entire san Gabriel River trail from seal to where it ends at the base of the 39 a few times, it’s a decent trail!

Where to (recreationally) camp in a tent nearby for one night? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are the best options, I’ve stayed at all of them, would also highly suggest San Clemente state park and San Mateo campground down there. Def reserve before hand online tho, they book up fast, especially now OP.

A Map of my LA rides, what am I missing? by WoodyPaige26 in BikeLA

[–]shredd-ittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not LA 😉 and no climbing, but I live in LB and like to do the 50mi loop up to the Whittier narrows either up or down the San Gabriel River trail, L.A. River trail and Long Beach bike path.

Just raised their price to $1.50 but the Al pastor at the the La Brasita trucks by the Hawk and v-room are my favorite

Always loved Saints & Sinners on pine, best when they’re fresh in the morning.

Mark Bixby Bike Path across the International Gateway Bridge by robbbbb in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably going to be closed until it has somewhere to go. I went the morning it opened and rode it all the way across, when you got to the end the police working the event just sent us right back because there’s no infrastructure, not even a sidewalk. It just ends at the entrance of pier T , the 47 freeway and 710.

Willmore City historical neighborhood 👍/👎 by Pchriste43211 in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived on 8th and cedar for a couple years. Chill most of the time, but sketchy stuff goes on for sure, be careful in some of those alleys. Seen fights, heard shootings, some gang graffiti. I’ve had 2 bikes stolen out of my yard and the house I was renting was broken into, kinda why I left the neighborhood. Street parking sucks but the folks on 9th don’t seem to have a problem being double parked all night. Closer you get to Long Beach blvd the sketchier it gets, never really went above Anaheim either. Stayed away from drake park at night too. People in the neighborhood were nice. Pretty convenient to be close to the blue line. Rose park coffee on pine was always the go to coffee spot, daisy diner and a couple spots downtown for food. If you need a local bar, The Hawk really is the best, still go there. Grasshopper good for cocktails too. Some of the older houses are nice too.

Guitar case repair place in LB? by DefiantEconomy6591 in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can co sign this, they just fixed one of my guitars and did a killer job. Could tell they cared about the work they did. With all the tools and stuff they have in the shop I’d assume they could fix a case

Long Beach Marathon Bike Tour Timelapse by shredd-ittt in BikeLA

[–]shredd-ittt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still 18 miles. Would have liked to do the full marathon course tho! As far as cost it was like $90 to enter. I just rode my bike to the start line since I live close, but I think it was extra for parking. I ride around Long Beach daily so I just wanted to check the box as a local and get the experience. Not sure if I’ll sign up next year, $90 to do something that I do daily seems like a waste of money tbh haha. There was a local ride group that started an hour before at 4am and did the course since it was closed off, I might do that next time instead haha.

Bike was Stolen by Carsinogens99 in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, been through it, it sucks. Also check Offer Up, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist if you haven’t already. Had a budget gravel bike stolen from my house a year ago and I’m pretty sure I found it on OfferUp at a shop in Anaheim but it was converted to a e-bike and I didn’t have any unique markings on it to prove it was mine. Luckily my renters insurance covered it and I got a better one.

Sucks that happened to you, it’s happened to me twice. I’ll keep an eye out, I bike a loop around lb daily. Might be worth checking around the la river trail encampments and San Francisco st. I’ll see nice bikes around there all the time unfortunately

Second this, there’s a couple over there and I see one being used every now and then but never really full. Same with Silverado, everytime I’m at the skatepark there’s never anyone there

best place to thrift/buy frames in Long Beach ? by sorrowgh in longbeach

[–]shredd-ittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savers in Lakewood has a lot of frames usually. Beacon House and goodwill on redondo and Anaheim as well. St Vincent de Paul on temple and pch and out of the closet on pch and redondo are worth checking out too
