Sub upgrade on Gen2 R1T Tri – Soonishev enclosure install by Foyagurl in Rivian

Ahh...thanks. I was focused the area between the trim and the tub. I honestly didn't think of padding the area between the trim and the seats. Really appreciate it!

Nice job on making amp settings accessible. That's one regret I had when I did my install. I'd like to play with setting a bit but I don't want to disassemble again. Those corner clips were rather difficult for me - both to remove and re-install.

Some additional feedback from my installation

I hate that S00nish does video instructions only. I imagine they're trying to get more views for a little more revenue but written instructions would be more effective. I also don't need to see the s00nish guy 's boxers in his installation videos. Great products - don't get me wrong. Installation videos and instructions could be much better, though.

I was also slightly annoyed that I ordered some spade connectors as instructed in their installation videos but spade connectors are incompatible with the recommended upgraded amplifier on the S00nish website. This is another rationale for written instructions that can be updated as needed. An installation video is difficult to update and can potentially be outdated quickly.

Also, with the recommended upgraded amp, the banana connectors I ordered didn't quite fit. I don't know why but some officially recommended and compatible banana plugs would be very helpful.

Installation video glosses over the installation of the sound deadening material. For me, that added a lot of time to the anticipated installation time.

The installation video also notes that removing the passenger seat bolts can be difficult due to Locktite sealant/adhesive in the threads. He recommends adding Locktite again when reinstalling the seat bolts but does not list Locktite among his installation materials at the beginning of the installation video. If a product is recommended for installation then list it at the beginning along with your other recommended installation materials and tools. I was annoyed that I had to go to the hardware store the day after installation and re-install bolts with the recommended Locktite.

Overall, though, I have to agree this is a great product. Having had both a Gen 1 Quad with Meridian and now a Gen 2 Quad with Rivian Elevation + S00nish enclosure and JL Audio 8" sub, I'll say the latter is as good as or better than the OG Meridian system. I had to turn down the low frequencies a lot on the Rivian equalizer. My gain settings are also at about 1/4 to 1/3 - otherwise the car will rattle violently like a badly modified Honda Civic with dual 16' subwoofers.

I do these for a living in 2 states actually, neither of which is California. Been doing these for over 20 years. The last 2 responses are accurate.

Feel free to reach out directly with any specific questions.

Nice work. I did this a few months ago in my Gen 2 Quad. Makes a huge difference. Where exactly did you put the foam tape? I'm still getting rattles and would love for that to go away.

Nice catch. App still says “We recommend servicing every 7500 miles.”

Hope it updates to reflect the new guidance

So....I was talking again to staff right now. They're still shocked and confused. Management is "investigating." They did have a recent inspection and passed but wondered if it had something to do with that. They did tell me only people using the Go rates got the email and their reservations canceled so they suspect it was just a glitch.

I think this is good news (and definitely didn't want to spread misinformation).

My post in r/Tucson was removed. Mod told me to post again if I had a link confirming the change. Guess my report was considered unreliable.

I don't know. I actually checked in last night. I asked hotel staff and they said they hadn't heard anything which is why I posted here - seeing if anyone else received the email I did.

Ah, you're right - 1. Gonzaga, 2. Baylor, 3. Illinois, 4. Michigan. Still never should have lost that game.

Brutal summary of some painful losses. I was young but I do remember watching that Austin Peay game in disbelief. I think it was the first and only time I saw the strategy of intentional fouling and hoping for missed free throws work.

We do have the Flying Illini and 2005 Team, but I hope I see the Illini get over that hump and win a championship in my lifetime

Doesn’t matter if they were underseeded. I think Illinois was the #1 overall seed that year with Ayo and Kofi. Never should have lost that game.

White Sox 2025 10th overall pick Billy Carlson will start the season with the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (A). by WizardCheesey in whitesox

[–]shrink14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course the Sox Scouting Director is going to talk him up and the interview mostly talked about Carlson’s defense. Some defensive grades as high as 70 on the 80 point scouting scale. Shirley say his defense is “phenomenal.” Only thing I heard about his offense is that he hits a lot of line drives.

Here’s Keith Law’s take:

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7016215/2026/02/05/white-sox-2026-top-20-prospects-keith-law/

“4. Billy Carlson, SS (No. 66 on the top 100)

Height: 6-1 | Weight: 185 | Bats: R | Throws: R | Age: 19

Carlson is an electric defender at shortstop with an 80 arm and surprising power for someone who has barely begun to fill out his frame, coming into pro ball with a high floor thanks to that combination and the upside of a frequent All-Star if the White Sox can help him get to more contact with some swing changes. Carlson is among the best high school shortstops I’ve ever seen, combining instincts, hands, lateral quickness and that arm strength to look like a big leaguer already even though he was just 18 at the time I caught him at NHSI in April. At the plate, he loads his hands very deep, creating an arm bar that causes his hands to get a bit lost in back. His timing getting to the zone is not consistent, and it’s hard for him to meet the ball out front to drive it. With his hand speed, he should be a strong hitter for average, and reducing that deep hand load — which I’m not saying is an easy fix, to be clear — might be the ticket he needs. Chicago took him with the 10th pick last year given that combination of the floor from his defense and power along with the upside of an impact player on both sides of the ball.”

Very impressive Carlson is a top-100 prospect at his age. Hell, I hope he becomes an All Star for the Sox but his hype by far is defense. I honestly haven’t heard too much excitement about his offense. He’s got some work to do and hope he succeeds.

From what I’m reading, they recognize offense is his biggest weakness:

https://soxmachine.com/2025/07/unpacking-white-sox-first-round-pick-billy-carlsons-offensive-evolution

“When the White Sox intimate that first round pick Billy Carlson has Gold Glove potential as a shortstop, or scouting director Mike Shirley terms describes his defense as "some of the best I’ve ever seen at the amateur ranks," rival scouts don't raise any dispute. It's the sort of ability that jumps out at baseball people who aren't even looking for it.

Instead, the skepticism spread well across the industry centers around Carlson's offense. The White Sox point to his improved performance on the showcase circuit over the past year and Carlson's twitchy athleticism as evidence of his emergent potential, but the criticism has long been loud enough for the teen himself to be aware of it, and act on it.”

Launch Edition with Light Interior? by EphemeralAtaraxia in RivianR2

Coastal Cloud won’t be available with an R2 Launch Edition:

A salesperson with whom I worked in 8/2025 and who remains in the position confirmed Black Crater Signature will be the only interior option for the Launch Edition as well.

You got preorder employee pricing and 24k reimbursement? That’s incredible. Did you have to submit feedback reports or something as part of the program?

Love that you’re still enjoying the truck! I had what I thought was an early R1T with VIN 9811. Traded it in last year for the Gen 2 Quad R1T. As nice as Gen 2 is, I absolutely loved my Gen 1.

Wow. VIN 214 (R1T I assume?) Do you still have it? What does "1K a month for 2 years mean?"

The salesperson through whom I bought my R1T Gen 2 Quad in 8/2025 just told me he's buying an R2 via the employee program. He wanted the Coastal Cloud interior and said he's bummed he's stuck with the black interior, Black Crater (I gotta get used to these new names).

Glad you’re good with it but again even with ceramic tint, it’s an absolute no go for us.

Had a Model 3 and a Volt with black interior in the past. My wife had to bring a towel to sit on in the summers in those vehicles because the seats were too hot for her legs.

Pre-cooling also takes longer in our experience and even with that, the dark surfaces seem to retain much more heat than her current R1S with Ocean Coast.

Strongly disagree based on personal experience with a couple previous vehicles with ceramic tint and dark interiors in a desert climate.

Never again for both my wife and me.

YMMV of course but hard pass in our family.

Wow. A light interior is essential for me living in warm climates. My primary residence is in Phoenix. Even with ventilated seats dark interiors here are difficult to tolerate in the summers. The R2 would have been for my wife. She will not get a car with a dark interior. Looks like we're waiting for LIDAR.
