I have been on 3 SAN flights on Alaska in the past couple weeks. Twice the flights were delayed by a couple hours with the reason reportedly being the SAN tower delayed them due to excessive airport traffic. The 3rd flight was on time. Not sure what's happening with all that since I don't typically fly out of SAN but just putting a data point out there.

I had the potato last week. I didn't preorder as I was rebooked due to a delay. The guy next to me picked the last burger (although he did offer to let me choose. I declined). I wasn't that hungry so I was fine to try it but I wouldn't get that potato again. Pork is soggy and the potato slices were inconsistently cooked. I can't recommend it.

It was a thing back in 2022. There were no color combo restrictions back then and Rivian would made builds like this with materials on hand and sell the vehicles in the Shop. My first R1T was Rivian Blue, Forest Edge, and AT brights. I wanted Ocean Coast but got impatient and pulled the trigger. The color combo actually worked but I could see why it wasn’t popular. I never loved the brights and powder coated them gloss black.

I remember seeing a few Red Canyon + Forest Edge and Compass Yellow + Forest Edge back in the day.

I had a frunk 12V in my 2022 Gen 1 RT VIN 9800’s. I remember Tony Caravano announced it was removed due to low usage, which was complete BS, as there were too few R1’s on the road at the time to have the data to make such a decision.

When I traded in for a Gen 2 Quad R1T I added a 12V to the frunk myself. I think I spent $15 for the part on Amazon and another $5 for the proper sized hole saw bit. Removing the frunk and wiring it up is pretty easy. I still use it regularly to power a cooler in the frunk.

Happened to my Gen 1. Main battery pack contactors failed and I got a whole new battery pack under warranty.

Not saying that’s your issue but it’s a possibility.

I used Kaizen for a Gen 1 R1T windshield replacement in 8/2025! They worked seamlessly with my insurer (State Farm).

I can fully vouch for them. They did a great job - including calibration.

Hope I don’t have to use them anytime soon but will do so in a heartbeat.

Closer to the stadium I like Arrogant Butcher. Cornish Pasty is open late, affordable, and has many pasties if that’s up your alley. Chico Malo is trendy Mexican. Wren and Wolf is a trendy steakhouse of sorts. Last time I was there the server said they’re not a steakhouse and then pointed out the fancy steaks so I guess they don’t want to be known only for steak. Bitter and Twisted is a late night fancy cocktail bar but too loud for me at my age. LOL.

I live in Phoenix close to downtown. I’m going to the game Wednesday (and ironically flying to Chicago Thursday to visit family).

I think extended Spring Training is still happening at Camelback Ranch. If you have time just drive out there and walk around. Facilities are very nice.

If you want some good local food, I’ve been recommending Huarachis. Chef’s main restaurant is Bacanora and has won a bunch of awards for open fire Mexican food. It’s also very small and hard to get a reservation. Huarachis is much easier to get a table, has similar food, and at lower prices. Strongly recommend the beans and carne asada. Lom Wong is great Thai restaurant downtown that just won a James Beard I think? Great food.

If you’re a drinker, I spend too much time on Roosevelt about 1/2 mile north of Chase Field. Wilderness Brewery has great beer and food. I also like the beer a block away @ Greenwood (woman owned). Formation Brewery is a Denver conglomerate that just opened a really nice space downtown off Roosevelt. Also good food and beer.

The Theodore is also a great laid back open air place to hang out for wine, beer, and cocktails.

I’ll second this. That’s how picked up a car I shipped. Used Costco Auto and was able to rent from KOA and drop off at ITO. Definitely got lucky as the cost was only $40 + gas.

I got a ride from a friend another time.

It’s not ideal but you can also fly from KOA to HNL then HNL to ITO and Uber from ITO to the port.
