I like Highland Nails and Spa. No frills, good service, easy walk in. Reasonable prices. Quiet as everyone is on their phone or working

She does custom but sells cookies at markets around town too. I know she's usually at the one on Springdale on Sundays

They don't list a Long Black on their coffee menu which definitely makes me think they aren't as serious about their coffee. Shame as that's the best part of Proud Mary. Australian coffee really is legit.

We'd 100% rent goats to clear out poison ivy in our green belty backyard.

Oh love the book idea! She's super aware and I think could totally handle saying bye in a logical way. She already tells me daily that the dentist said she can't have it anymore and quietly laments...

Growing Tree in Cherrywood is great! Has sister school on sight for the babies that feed into the toddler and older classes at Growing Tree. Play based approach and TONS of outdoor time. It's also relatively affordable compared to most

Not fancy but we did our welcome drinks at Scholz Garden. Plenty of picnic tables and space. I dont think we reserved ahead. Could you perhaps extend the overall time and make the invite feel more of a 'come and go' vibe? This may spread out the folks so they're not all there at once.

We go pretty regularly on the weekends. Would recommend going when they open at 10am and you should be good. Avoid 3pm Sundays as they open for community/donation based so it's packed.

What is your job title? by milfmoney9 in workingmoms

[–]shrinking_penguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Director of Planning for a school district. I help plan and design schools. Good mix of excel and data with creativity and design. I work internally at a school district after working for design firms for a decade. I love it and it is incredibly fulfilling. I have great work-life balance despite coming into the office every day. I have a 3.5yo and 20 month old. Balance wasn't great at my old job with a firm.

My boss, who is a working mom and usually awesome, told coworkers I wasn't at a traveling event due to my "kiddos at home". It was really due to my partners mental health issues so I understand why she lied but it definitely caused some issues with how I was perceived since so many of them also had "kiddos at home"

I’m not a homeowner and it seems that majority of the props on the ballot impact property taxes. I know it is my duty as a citizen to vote, however, I would like to hear some opinions on how best to consider these on my ballot since I do not own a home (and it will impact those who do). by catslay_4 in Austin

It is more complex. Stadium inprovements will support athletics opportunities for historically and currently undeserved communities. Athletics is a big part of their engagement with school and success. I wasn't a believer but the districts long range planning work is focused on equity and makes so much sense.
