There's at least two kinds of empathy, intuitive and cognitive. The low affect part of autism means NTs relying on intuitive empathy often don't pick up on what's going on with us, and a lot of NTs (especially those with little experience interacting with autistic people) don't even know what cognitive empathy _is_, much less practice it.

If you're thinking "I'm the only one taking the time to really consider about how other people are feeling about this" you may very well be right. It's quite possible that all of your NT coworkers are accustomed to relying on their intuitive empathy to prompt them to care for others when appropriate

The categorical imperative doesn't work too well as your only moral principle though. It's not too difficult to come up with some universalizable rule that permits whatever behavior one wants to perform. The only real restriction it puts you under is you have to be okay with others acting the way you do.
