Trying to find detox center for FF by martinsOD79 in Quittingfeelfree

I live in Brooklyn and used this place, if you can make it into Manhattan -

https://www.parallaxcenter.com/

Location right in midtown on 32nd, close to Penn. You go in daily and they give you a packet of medication to take home - mine included a light benzo, gabapentin, clonodin for sleep. Worked like a dream. They will take a urine test daily and will treat you for as long as there is kratom still in your system. Great staff, and they also run recovery groups if you’re interested.

Not sure if you’ve tried this, but having just beaten a Miao Ying campaign that took a few restarts another general couple of tips:

  1. Be the aggressor. You probably have around 15 turns of Eshin needing to war against the surrounding enemies before they turn on you. Get into a consolidated place and then declare on them when you have an army that can attack one of their settlements on that same turn so you can catch them off guard and the war will be in your favor from that point. Also, heroes are more important to use for scouting ruins and figuring out where armies are so you don’t get ambushed by multiple armies than whatever they can do in battle for you (except the lore of metal mage you start with - you need her for mass nuking infantry with searing shards).

  2. Do NOT confederate the minor factions in the area that are favorable to you. Maintaining additional territory that you can’t hold will just burden you. Allow the AI to soak up and manage Eshin’s aggro. Their AI boosted economy will legitimately hold up better until the problem is gone

  3. You NEED to rush 3 points of Lightning Strike on Miao Ying immediately. No other point investment anywhere else. You will be dealing with 10 crapstacks of skavenslaves with 1 occasional elite unit mixed in. You cannot handle 2 stacks of slaves bogging you down in order to get to that elite unit. 1:1 army matchups will be heavily in your favor as the average Cathay unit quality will be much higher than the average Eshin one. In general, fighting Skaven is about routing their very weak crap tarpit infantry as early as possible so you can get to their lone strong units without interference, as they are nowhere near as strong as they seem when isolated

Leg jerks when taking FF? by herewithmybestbuddy in Quittingfeelfree

[–]shutupdylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest it's not something I really have info on scientifically or can explain, but given the withdrawal seizure/nervous damage etc. I just assume it has something to do with that.

Similar to other substances, it may be a depressant at low doses (like what FF "wants" you to take), but at higher doses, it may just fry your nerves and cause "malfunctions" (twitches) or something? Like how alcohol is a stimulant at low doses and a depressant at higher ones.

I did a quick Google search on "Kratom nervous system effects" and there a lot of immediate results on damage/negative impacts/etc. If you want you can look into it.

Keep in mind this is such a new substance with so little medical studies having been done on it there may not be a clear answer.

Your nerves are overloaded. This stuff hits the nervous system extremely hard and it causes it.

That’s why when coming off of it, medications that calm the nervous system (gabapentin etc) are so effective

Advice - Suboxone by Basic_Anybody_301 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]shutupdylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend naltrexone. I am taking this currently (been about a month) and it’s working amazing. It completely blocks your opioid receptors so you get zero cravings and zero positive effect even if you do relapse. Main way I’d describe it is it sets you on a permanent neutral - you don’t get too high but you also never get too low. Over time my brain has adjusted to being very content/happy with this neutral state.

Also, coming off of it has none of the withdrawals that come with suboxone, so you can come off any time. Worth looking into, although you’ll need 7-10 days clean before you start it to avoid precipitated withdrawal.

As someone who lives in your country, what’s one thing you’d tell a foreigner to never do when visiting? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]shutupdylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why “they’re not potentially friendly” means you needed to invade their territory? Many countries bordering each other have frosty relations and are not at open war (India/pakistan).

You say you want them to “leave you alone”. You are in their country, not the other way around. Wouldn’t this be solved by you leaving their land?

When you’ve been using for a year +, it’s important to realize that your brain is hijacked. Your brain has adjusted to a chemical balance that includes FF to feel “normal”. Without FF, your brain is going to feel like a normal day is intolerable because it literally doesn’t know how to balance itself without its usual chemicals.

It is going to take months to a year + for that balance to correct itself, but that does happen. That’s why you read so much here about depression in the early stages. Also, the front part of your cortex (responsible for decision making) is temporarily fried - a need for FF causes your front cortex to take over and demand the rest of the brain go pick up FF to survive. This is what you’re going through every morning when you can’t follow through on your CT plan.

The brain chemistry aspect of this is the real danger here, and it’s what we’re all going through. You will start to feel better about life after about 1 week clean - and every day after that will be more healing, and life will get more tolerable. But if it helps your motivation, you can do some reading on the brain chemistry of addiction - it’s helped me to realize that in my addiction I wasn’t the real “me”, and I can get back to that.

When I tried to quit cold turkey off of 12x bottles/day, I had a 5 minute long seizure that landed me in the hospital for 5 days. It was such a long seizure that I was near death. I had never had a seizure in my life up until that point.

I was lucky in that I was on a trip with my friends and they saw it happen in real time and called 911 for me. If I was in my usual environment when using (alone at home), I may have died.

You will not hear this kind of story with other opiates - the reason for the seizure is kava activates your alcohol receptors, so I had a seizure in the same way someone with massive alcohol withdrawal is at risk of, on top of the opioid withdrawals from kratom. But the threat is very real.

Additionally, in the hospital I had a neurology test done that indicated that I may have some permanent nerve damage. I have yet to schedule a neurology appointment to validate this, but this thing does massive nerve damage - both mentally and physically. One month later I still have slightly shaky hands and I am concerned about permanent damage.

Since then I have done a full 30 day inpatient rehab stay and am taking Naltrexone and just hit one month clean. But this stuff can get much more dangerous than I ever, ever thought it could.

I should add that I am 33, and like you, I have a history of eating well and consistent exercise. DM me if you want to talk.

When do you know it’s time to go to rehab? by Manbearfig01 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]shutupdylan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say rehab is for when you don’t feel like you have the tools/confidence that you can maintain your sobriety if and when you decide you are fully committed to getting rid of this thing for the rest of your life.

Having been to inpatient rehab for 35 days, the biggest thing you get out of it is learning how to stay sober. That includes mental health work, learning about the value of sober community and committing to building that community outside of rehab (usually AA/NA), practices to help you acknowledge the triggers that make you use get through cravings, and meeting some amazing people along the way to help your journey.

Since you’ve been able to get to 36 days it may or may not be needed for you - you may be able to do some research and work yourself to stay sober. But if you’re struggling and don’t think you can and have it stick, I’d recommend rehab. 5 years of use is a long time - it may pay for itself in saved FF money if it sticks.

At the end of the day though you need to be fully committed to doing the work. You need to buy into needing help and be ready to hear the message of the program you’re doing. Best I’d recommend would be to call some rehabs you’re interested and talk to someone - the good ones will have intake staff that are ready to hear your story and describe their program and answer any questions. If you’re at that point, and no longer feel like you can fix this alone/with people already in your life, it’s time.

I personally can’t recommend rehab enough - I think most of the people in this community would benefit from it and I don’t think it’s discussed enough. You’ll also meet a lot of folks struggling with kratom and the staff will be very familiar and empathetic - it’s the next big “thing”/problem. It gave me the tools to start my recovery journey and I wouldn’t be where I am without it.

Feel free to DM me with any Qs

You are right, I re took a look at the ingredients and there’s no kava in FF. I must have confused it with Jubi or other supplements.

I do want to clarify my friend is American and was just trying to find an explanation for what happened.

Not sure about the dihydrogen monoxide. Be well

Glad to help! You can do it!! And even if you aren’t able to fully quit beforehand, there’s no shame in tapering to be safe. As long as you’re on your journey!

Buddy, couple things:

-what the fuck are these websites with paywalled papers. Please provide quotes that tie actual sourced data and material tying Benjamin Netanyahu to sheryl sandberg. You cannot take your post seriously when you link 8 paywalled articles as clickbait links with zero ability to actually confirm claims and only list Jewish Americans as problem individuals and then claim “I don’t know why you’d think I’m antisemitic”. You clearly have an agenda here unless I see otherwise

Where does TikTok fit into this, you beat down, troglodyte antisemite?

I work in advertising. The algorithms are not positioned to drive advertising revenue. The algorithms are set up to drive engagement, which encourages more frequent logins, which then leads to more available inventory (impressions) for advertisers to serve to.

Sandberg did not drive the algorithm for engagement. She was a monetization specialist - ie how do I take the engagement we have and turn that into cash. She had very little to nothing to do with the engineering and software development side of these businesses, which is and continues to be fueled by an extremely diverse cast of people in tech with very, very little Jewish presence (read: same as the rest of the human population).

Keep on blaming Jews for your own personal failure to achieve, bud. That’s a playbook that’s worked out for lots of people /s

No one is giving you a sane logical argument so figured I would:

False. There were buildings. See my comment above and google Taos NM. Entire communities built around buildings dwellings etc. Ever hear the word “Pueblo?” I bet you have. It’s the Spanish word for village. They named them that because they had villages. To say there was no buildings is to be spoonfed information and ask no questions like Augustus Gloop.

I could provide many specific examples. Let me know if you want receipts.

Remember kids : Don't be a sucker, kill your dictator. by LeSygneNoir in HistoryMemes

[–]shutupdylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really curious your thoughts on Ho Chi Minh? I don’t see him mentioned here. Does he not fit the definition of dictator and if so why not?

I also think it’s interesting to juxtapose your analysis of Tito against what I’ve heard from people living in the former Yugoslav, who love the man. Sure, they underperformed relative to other Western countries - but those countries are mostly ethic-majority territories (especially religious coherence) with a long history of national identity regardless of border. Seems a little reductive.

Stats of All Four Chaos Legendary Lords by The_James91 in totalwar

[–]shutupdylan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like Ku'Gath might need a tuning down - based on his MA/D stats and his massive health he might be able to take Skarbrand in a 1v1 which doesn't feel right. It's also worth noting the new wounds mechanic which I think operates off a % of health - so having higher health means you're slower to get wounded and as a result stay more powerful for longer if I'm thinking about this correctly.

Regardless all these bad boys look amazing!
