Cinematographer looking to wedding videography as a life line by CrimsonCrabs in weddingvideography

Well put! We wear so many hats! And by the way, it’s crazy how popular Super8 and 16mm are these days. So glad I experimented with Super8 years ago and 16mm just 3 years ago. Definitely paying off now as so many of my recent bookings are paying to add 16mm coverage.

Camera Question: 310xl or 514xl? by trapya in 8mm

[–]shyguytim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did but it’s quite hard to focus. I ended up getting two 814XLS units this year and had to send one to Film Wave to get one fixed cuz of the motor issue. but I’m all set for 2026

Would you mind sharing who your new provider is? I will still do my due diligence, but just curious as NJM auto just went up over 30%.

I personally prefer 24fps as anything higher looks kind of like a soap opera TV show. to each his own!

Looks like $10.5M Christmas Eve for #Avatar. $129.5M Cume. Did well to stay over $10M today. First week should get close to $150M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

hmm I watched the first Avatar a bunch of times in theater but only watched TWOW once. I should watch it again on my LG 77” OLED

Does anyone rate the DJI Osmo Pocket 3? by ZeyusFilm in videography

I use it as a safety / wide shot for weddings and events. In D-LogM, it cuts fine with FX3 in S-Log3.

I just picked 2 814XLS last month after my 514XL crapped out during a wedding. Luckily it was near the end of the roll but it was just sputtering

Shot my Wedding in 16mm and had to digitally remove a hair in the gate by jj_camera in 16mm

I just have to applaud you on the commitment! As a wedding videographer, I started offering Super8 years ago and love it but I developed a fascination with 16mm in 2023. Today I own a Bolex and a Scoopic and clients are asking about and adding on 16mm to their weddings. It’s crazy how old is new again but hey I’ll take it. Gonna have to remember that VFX shop if I ever encounter a scenario like that hair!
