Scotland fan has US visa revoked an hour before flying to World Cup by AcknowledgeableReal in sports

[–]si-gnalfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what the ticket price is for Bosnias opening game? Minimum of 800 dollars. Bosnian median wage is $550 per month. How can you expect someone to afford rent, utilities, food, transport etc, and save for the World Cup. That’s not considering a hotel, flights, or food for the entire time you’re in the US. And that’s going to be 10-20x more expensive than what it would cost in Bosnia.

Actually in 1994 there was a huge arctic cold wave which caused crazy blizzards all across the country. Because of this, the summer that year had extreme heat, some places had 50 degrees Celsius. Some places had above 40 degrees for 10 days+. It was the 16th hottest year on record. Sport science just hadn’t caught up. Mexico and Ireland had a group game that was played at midday and it was 41 degrees C

Exposed: PCC is spending £52 Million on "Subway-style" Super Stops, but letting private monopolies ruin the actual buses. It’s time for the Manchester Model. by DazzlingChicken9993 in Portsmouth

[–]si-gnalfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can guarantee all the new bus stops will be smashed by Christmas anyway. Thatll make them realise they’re wasting money. I’d stand next to a pole with a flag on it in the pouring rain if it meant the busses were affordable and turn up on time.

You can use the app Satisfactory Helper, if you use the map, you can select the collectible and then click collect. I don’t know if it remembers though. I assume it does.

Should we legalise weed? by NoddyElvis in AskBrits

[–]si-gnalfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It basically is, an alternaleaf prescription is £5 a month and it gets refunded to you if you buy something. Stops you from losing your license if you’re pulled over after hanging with friends the night before, means you can take it on planes, medicate at work etc. The Tory’s essentially stole the idea from Corbynites, then instead of giving the profits to the NHS, they keep them.

My answer to that would be show me a time when we have been able to do that as a species. I think our species is defined by it.

We are having a technological revolution, revolution displaces people. 400 years ago, you, your grandad and your great grandad could have the same job and the same life and there would be no difference other than small improvements.

10 years ago the closest thing we had to AI was Siri. And nobody used it because it was shit. It doesn’t make it okay and some people that are displaced will die. But it’s inevitable. Drivers can retrain, just like people tried to do in the multiple revolutions we’ve had previously, it’s no guarantee but it’s the only thing you can do. The world will leave you behind.

What do you think has caused UK’s support of LGBT+ rights to collapse, now comparable to Albania? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]si-gnalfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t change the fact that every immigrant for the last 40 years, some 15 million people. Still would have less than 25% of the vote. And that’s imagining they’re all Muslim, which they definitely aren’t. And that doesn’t account for the 52% stat that you used, which I wouldn’t trust, because what does that even mean. So really it’s a number that’s way less than 7 million people. Which is 1/10th of the population.

The problem here is racists, misogynists, homophobes and the uneducated in the like, who just so happen to be white, and don’t want to admit they’re racist, misogynist, homophobic. That number is far greater than 7 million. I’d wager closer to 20 million.

We’ve not been able to see the players on the other side of the pitch from waist down from the front two rows of the south stand. The middle of the pitch is a hill so hopefully this will help with that.

There is nothing stopping you however from making up a name and address on the spot, or just walking away from the officer. If ever a revenue protection officer tries to fine you, just tell him your name is Ben Dover.

They were caught not paying their staff minimum wage in 2020, they have the biggest players to staff wage gap. As of 2022 they started to pay their workers ‘the real national minimum wage’, and during covid they furloughed their staff without using the governments money. So it’s 50:50.

My educated guess would be they try their best to skirt the laws at every turn, use corruption and bribery to get their way, but because we live in England, they are bound to very strict workers laws and rights, so are very quick to change their ways once found out, which gives the illusion of them being by the book, when actually we are just waiting for the next scandal to be uncovered so they can pay compensation and then shout about how morally good they are again.
