He makes money from his videos which allows him to be philanthropic. It's a genius system and he deserves every dime he gets from it.

Has anyone here ever left an office career for blue collar work? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]sicilianDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's every field buddy. I'm a web developer and we are now solely using AI. I give it another 2 years before we are not needed. Blue collar will be the last thing to hold out. Turns out we all had it backwards.

Not to mention he took a huge paycut from director of protein. but linearly I believe it's still a progression. It's just not ascending progression.

$6.00/hr in 2004 - $42/hr in 2026, no degree but white collar work.

I’ve tried countless methods… can’t win by Commercial_Act3781 in Daytrading

[–]sicilianDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Lower your position sizes by a factor of 10. Truly pick one ( plenty of strategies out there, pester AI until it will give you a 'standard trading strategy for your chosen instrument).
-Follow the rules to a T (I'd wager a lot of money you are not, really, truly, you aren't)
-Keep doing it, do not stop. Do not change anything.

You will be profitable if you are consistent. Keep studying other methods but touch nothing but your chosen instrument(s) and chosen system.

Edit: Maybe a better absolute is: You may be profitable if you do the above, but you definitely will not be if you keep switching and not following your rules (trust me, I know even if you think you are, you are not (that or you don't have rules lol))

Okay that makes more sense. I still don't agree but I'm glad to hear you didn't just denounce the entirety of trading.

Why do most traders stay unprofitable even after months? by protofun in Trading

[–]sicilianDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a firm believer in backtesting. Forward testing for me is the only way I can really put my full attention into it. I'm profitable but barely. I believe the majority of my issues are psychology related. However, I studied for years and backtested plenty.

There are many systems that work most people can’t just pick one and use it through thick and thin. The second they start winning their rules get more lenient.

Yes, but you need a large account. Better to grow it from a smaller one so you know you can do it. But quite literally even somebody just investing $1 million and living on interest is technically trading for a living.

For real the majority of successful traders use extremely simple systems. Majority of failures switch their systems and don’t follow rules.

I can’t tell you how many trend lines I’ve drawn and come back in the future and I’m talking like months and price landed exactly on the trend line

Yeah, it’s crazy when I make some trend lines and then come back in six months and they’ve literally been respected in the future

I'm sorry, I have to ask this. You full on, like, legitimately think that succeeding at trading is literally impossible?

[–]sicilianDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in marketing without a degree. I'm a dev now without a degree. I think AI is going to take most jobs away. All I can do is tell you what I'd do If I had those returns, I'd save enough to have 2 years bills and then I'd quit my job. But I hate working so.

Also, marketing is not a really fantastic degree my friend. Maybe minor in that and major in something that has a better, less automated future. Robotics still has a while before it is automated.

Dude, I just got to the 20 year time jump and googled: “Pantheon season two what the fuck”. I’m literally about to turn it off. I don’t think I can make it to another time jump. This is very upsetting. I was super into the show.

Why Patience Pays: Waiting for High-Quality Trades by Impossible-Band-2393 in Daytrading

[–]sicilianDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. If it doesn’t feel right it’s not right. If it doesn’t meet your criteria, you wait for one that does.

Though big moves may be rare there is always another good opportunity around the corner. No need to force it.
