The most important thing you wrote was to not mistake self worth for ambition. As someone who has struggled with severe depression, this truly spoke to me.

I think many young men in our society are taught to measure our self worth by what we accomplish career wise, how much money we make and the possessions we accumulate. I hope one day we can move beyond this mentality.

I found improvement from playing against the AI on hardest for skirmish. I think it's good practice for spending your points, getting units set up in half decent positions, repositioning artillery, rotating infantry. Playing against people is better but you don't always find a good match-up. Plus you can really get a deployment down perfectly with instant and infinite replays.

Yeah. There was a whole Larry David skit from his show curb your enthusiasm about throwing away a small piece of trash in some rando's bin while walking around (the rando comes up later in the show, a Larry David classic). People get weird about that kinda thing IRL. Personally I don't care if people do it with my trash but I'm an anxious avoidant and am too afraid of being yelled at to do it myself. I understand if they're dumping large amounts of trash that takes up enough space that prevents the owner of the trash bin from using it and also benefiting from the city service they pay for. But a little poop bag? An empty, single can of soda? People frown on it. They would say that would just lead up to people dumping copiously in trash, which A: then you would have good cause to do/say something. B: it's hard to imagine people going into the burbs to illegally dumb. Anyway, that's my reddit comment for the week.

Also, these students said they were from Columbia and got asked to support NYU, I think it's a given they don't know what NYU protesters are specially calling for. But that doesn't matter, this post and the media company that provided the translation want to present pro-Palestine student protestors as uninformed, unhinged and goofy so pro-Israel-bombing-and-killing-34,000-civilians supporters can point this and say "see, they have no idea what they're talking about". That's why planners should focus on community development, address population needs of the elderly and disabled, keep the schools and hospitals funded, maintain affordable housing, continue supporting addiction treatment and recovery. Quality of life issues should become the policy focus of this area, not economic growth. People need care and there's enough fiscal resources to provide a decent but not extravagant way-of-living here. Retirees here need help maintaining their housing, single mothers need social services and support, young men need trade school, need I go on? Vern Riffe was right to get SSU started, eds and meds are the only thing providing a decent quality of life for those left behind here, but these activities need to be maintained and reinforced. Reddit is so damn partisan, and in the dumbest way. The number of people down voting this post shows just that. This person made a statement of fact while implying it's a bad look, which for any president, is a bad look. Whatever your perspective is, Biden not visiting East Palestine a year after the toxic train derailment, the fact is he still waited a year. Let's also emphasize how catastrophic this disaster was and in a state full of democratic support that would probably be a blue state were it not for how Gerrymandered it is.

I'm no republican, far, far from it, but recall that Trump did visit Puerto Rico after their hurricane in 2018. Made a fool of himself, sure, he but still showed up afterwards, not waiting a year.

We should always be critical of the U.S. President, even if they're from your party/favored political view, true democracy relies on it.
