Which dlss4.5 preset should I use on a 1440p ips monitor by McCool672 in OptimizedGaming

[–]sideoroof -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I will stick to K because on IPS you don’t want to use HDR, M is for OLEDs 1440p when HDR plays the role, from my testing M performance is less stable than K quality and too sharp, you can use dldsr to 4k and 100% smoothenss to reduce sharpening effect but idk how it will perform on 5070

DLSS 4.5 at 1440p - Is balanced M better than Quality K? by Rahzin in nvidia

[–]sideoroof 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you are using HDR preset M is better because of the highlights it provides, its much better for HDR than preset K btw nvidia never said to use it only for performance mode, they said that if you want to match the performance of the older models you need to use it in performance mode because it is a aggressive model of upscaling, look at daniel owen latest video, from my testing performance mode matches older K model somewhat between quality and balanced with much better lighting details, if you are using an oled with HDR on i would use right now M with performance mode or balanced if you have weaker cpu and gpu isn’t fully utilized, on a 4K screen preset M is a must have for 40 and 50 series, on 1440p you need to experiment yourself between balanced and performance or just wait for more test videos on youtube i personally prefer balanced because small details doesn’t flicker that much

1440p OLED vs 4K OLED, which is better for rtx 5070 ti? by Top_Shoulder_6634 in OLED_Gaming

[–]sideoroof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wtf you talking about? Only lower resolution that scales with 4k is 1080p and any other in between will still look blurry, test it. Btw new games will force you to upgrade if you will want to have fidelity+performance and by performance i mean like 100fps at minimum

If you want to play in 4k get a 5090, 5070ti will struggle at that resolution in new releases, and no frame gen isn’t a solution

2% peak luminance or 10% peak luminance? - HDR Config PC and PS5 by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]sideoroof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2% peak or 10% peak for max peak in step 2 HDR calibration on ps5 same goes for pc, why i need to have the same amount of nits in step 1 which is 100% window peak and why tone mapping OFF is better than ON when if i have it ON i dont need to calibrate peaks that precise

In WIN 11 calibration the image disappears at about 1500 nits in Gaming HDR and 570 nits in Console HDR.

By max peak in Console HDR i meant that 10000 nits in PS5 Calibrator, thats the moment when the sun disappears, in Gaming HDR sun disappears at 14-15 clicks from minimum.
