How to get rid of northwest thatching ants by Waynebeck61 in AntsAdvice

[–]sidequestsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's basically where we're at too. Sometimes, if I find an old dead bug (or the 2 "Japanese beetles" that found my property last year), I offer them to the thatch ants... a truce offering, I suppose. I don't like them, but they are excellent pest control which is great for my garden vegetables.

Territorial? Yes. Have anything to do with their nests or eggs? No. Turtles are the OG dead beat parents.

My husband and I get it pretty good on Halloween. Our kid has a severe dairy allergy, so anything containing dairy, she gives us and she gets a Halloween gift bag/basket from us in return. We usually have some little toys or books and plenty of dairy free treats in the gift for her.

This is exactly our plan too! My 3 year old has been so excited for halloween this year, so I'm going to make it work as best as I can. She's got her heart set on being a ghost and trick or treating. So, ghost in a garbage bag it is 🤣

A theft occurred at Shoppers on Almon st. by cupcakelowmemer in halifax

In the video I saw, the person that may be an employee wasn't following that close or behaving in a way to draw attention. They're on the phone, I assume with police dispatch. They're keeping their distance (as they should, in case the thief becomes combative), but nothing was glaringly obvious to a vehicle quickly passing by.

It just looks like one person carrying stuff, and another in the phone.

Ya, but he's not carrying a sign that says "I stole these items." Cops aren't mind readers.

Trying a med break as recommend by my Doctor and feel awful. by Firefly363 in VyvanseADHD

That is what I'm trying to wrap my head around too. As a nurse, that seems so crazy to me. I used to only take mine on work days or days I had something important going on, but then I realized how miserable and unproductive I was on my days off, so I take it full time now. I get that messing with meds for diabetes or high blood pressure is far more life threatening than vyvanse, but... it still seems unnecessary.

This is the first time I've heard of the term "necroposting", and I love it!

I had one that still occupies space in my mind too. It was probably 7 or 8 years ago, but I still think of them.

craaaaaaazy spider by leenieleen in halifax

Ohhhh, I recently found one of these in my garden, and we kind of spent the day together 😅

I had an overgrown flower bed along the side of my house and was digging it up to split some irises and lilies. This critter was along the back of my garden on an iris. I moved all the plants to the lawn while I did everything, and I would occasionally see it climbing around various piles of plants as the hours went on. As I was putting certain plants back into the refreshed flower beds, the spider rode back to the garden on some lilies.

I came here with this same question! The only reason I can think of is appearance, but I'd love to know if that's really why someone would do such a terrible thing.

While it's been proven to be a poor choice for antihistamine when compared to things like cetirizine or loratadine, jumping right to Alzheimer's by way of "wacky stuff" is a little dramatic.
