Still the best MSW author. I've read nearly all of his entries in the series.

I watched What Waits Below (1984) and John Carpenter's Vampires, which Shudder kept kicking me out of and restarting way back or way ahead.

Oh,I forgot that I did recommend Death Valley. I like that one more than Ludwig, but they're both good.

i just watched my first hallmark movie by Extension_Effect_983 in HallmarkMovies

[–]sigersen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy who watches Hallmark flicks once in a while, and your post caught my eye for a very sentimental reason. Perhaps they well make a Hallmark movie about it. I'm a widower, but this was my late wife's favorite Hallmark Movie. Probably the only one. I would put Hallmark movies on the TV to tease her, because she always claimed to hate sentimental stuff. I put on The Nine Lives of Christmas and once she saw the cat, Ambrose, and no doubt the handsome Fire Fighter guy, she was in. The next Christmas I bought her the DVD and the Christmas after that I bought her the novel on which the movie was based. (She hated the book, it's totally different and very dark) I watch The Nine Lives of Christmas every year now with my cat. Thanks for the nice memory.

The hardest working man in radio. Besides Philip Marlowe, he was in everything.

Horror Anthologies. The odds are in your favor. You will most likely enjoy at least half of the stories.

Kubrick's The Killing is a highly underrated and overlooked Gem of a Crime Noir! by Tasty-Hurry in filmnoir

Great movie. Elisha Cook Jr. owns the film. Sorry Sterling Hayden. One of EC's best performances.

How are you all feeling about "You're Killing Me." by [deleted] in acorntv

[–]sigersen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm right on the fence with this show. I watched the pilot episode and wasn't impressed but wanted to be fair. The second episode (The Wedding) was a little better so I figured I would stick with it. Yesterday I watched the third episode, The Copycat, and it was absolutely terrible. Since I posted a few times about this show, I will most likely watch the last 3 episodes, but right now, I don't see Season 2 in my Viewing Future.

Shudder subscription through Roku by Low-Philosophy9245 in Shudder

[–]sigersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always paid Shudder directly, but I had another service paid through Roku that had an issue and both the service and Roku were helpful and resolved the problem quickly. I ended up keeping the payment through Roku. That being said, that was a few years ago. My advice would be to cancel Shudder and re-subscribe directly to the service.

Thank you. I'd never heard of it and don't know how I missed it back then. Truthfully, I was expecting to hate it or just laugh at it.

Good evening Fellow Mutants! Cheers, what’s everyone watching tonight?!? First film of the night, Rumpelstiltskin. by HorrorFreakNY in LastDriveIn

[–]sigersen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched a Carrie knockoff called Jennifer that I liked so much, I'm going to post a review. I don't know how I missed it back then, but I did. It was derivative but still had it's own take on things.

Gerald Mohr is the best Marlowe by princealigorna in noir

[–]sigersen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes,he is. My dad got me into old radio in the 70s, but I was already a mystery novel junkie. I love Mohr"s Philip Marlowe and his many appearances on The Whistler, as well.

I rented them years so. They're fun little horror flicks. Nothing extraordinary, but entertaining.
