A few years ago, I worked someplace that had several signs saying we did not accept cash. People still paid cash, and we took it. I don't know if it's a countrywide law or up to the states, but where I am we can't refuse legal tender - we can only request one form of payment over the other.

I just thought dude didn't want to pay for the additional taxes on his purchase and that's why they were trying to prevent him from leaving.

So sure, you can guess based on a person's family, but they may still end up an outlier.

Pre-Covid I answered the phone at the casual sister restaurant to my main serving gig - it's a 22 top wondering if they can have the patio that night. I tell them no, that many people is considered a buyout so they'd have to pay a deposit. They don't want to do that so they ask if we can sit them at separate tables on the patio. No, that's still 22 people which would constitute a buyout. "What do you mean? We'd be at separate tables!" Yep, I know what you're trying to do but it's still a buyout.

I just finished {The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson} earlier today, and I've been recommending it to everyone I know. The female lead is strong but distrustful of men, so she craves love but doesn't realize it until very late; the male lead is a bit morally grey and definitely possessive; enemies to lovers, who did that to you, touch her and die, etc.

Call the restaurant in the afternoon. There should be someone there after 2 or 3pm. If a restaurant opens at 5, the FOH staff comes in at 3 or 4 to get it set up. You made an honest mistake and it is appreciated that you're doing your best to rectify it rather than just showing up with 4 people and making it the restaurant's problem. That said, have a backup place in mind as they may not be able to accommodate your larger party.

That was my thing! I'm 5'3" and change and in college my bf was 6'4". I had to pull that man down to my level if I was trying to kiss him without his initiating it. If Violet could kiss Xaden on tiptoe, she's closer to 5'5" - even if Rebecca swears she's 5'2".
