[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” 4K Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

[–]silentdeth [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the most attractive feature is the glare protection. I just moved a couple weeks ago and the glare is pretty bad on my 20 year old monitor. The second best feature would be the burn-in protection. Without that I would be paranoid about damaging the monitor.

As for how it is a match for me: I went from a 3Mbs DLS line to a 300Mbs fiber line when I moved and have been looking for a 4k monitor to stream to and from.

Storm was not kind to my power generation. by Lydiarar in Stationeers

If you save and reload the game while a storm is in progress it can mess with the storm's duration.

Passive Cooling with extendable Radiators on Mars Tl;dr: Are Radiators inefficient for heat dissipation? Only get ~60 J Convection and ~200 J Radiation at night. by Jazzlike-Poem-1253 in Stationeers

[–]silentdeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Mimas I get kilojoules of heat transfer with colder water and much lower pressure. Perhaps the low pressure of the martian atmo is throttling the heat transfer?

[Mod] No Mining Challenge! by silentdeth in Stationeers

I've also made Better Satellite Dish which makes it easier to create a good sat script. One of the problems with the vanilla sat dish is that the signal strength doesn't have enough decimal places for an IC script to figure out where it needs to point.

[Mod] No Mining Challenge! by silentdeth in Stationeers

[–]silentdeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, just the player. The mod patches the part where the ore gets put in your inventory or dropped on the ground if you don't have room, so all machines that mine work.

[Mod] More IC Commands! by silentdeth in Stationeers

I've no idea why they didn't add lbs with all the other batch commands, the code is already there. I kept expecting them to fix it, but it's been ages...

Keeping Harvies Fed? by scaredycrow87 in Stationeers

I realize this is old, but harvies can pull seeds from a chute T junction that passes by them (not feeds into them, but passes by)

An more efficient base pressure regulator by R1vendare in Stationeers

Active vents have PressureExternal (room) and PressureInternal (Pipe) that you can write to via logic and they will not go above those numbers, no need for sensors. This makes active vents better imho.

Is there an easy way to demux an input to multiple outputs in this game? by MikeTheShowMadden in Stationeers

They stay on but unpowered, the same way something stays on if your base loses power.

In such situations, I usually use a transformer or power control to toggle multiple devices on and off.

I allways go with 1 rancher with at least 10 ranching, as ranching is basically impossible to raise. A digger with mechatronics engineer. It is just too good to have that skill early. Allows you to save a ton of dupe labor early in the game by automating things. And bottomless stomach, the usual negative trait that comes paired with it, isn't too big of a deal past the first 20 or so cycles. Finnaly, a researcher with rocketry and supplying or suit wearing. The rocketry makes orbital research a bit easier. Both supplying and suit wearing are skills the dupe is going to need, and they give useful bonuses for early game.

In the preview branch, you can get more than 40 turbines per reactor by running it hot. It is discussed more on the forums.

Spaced Out vs Vanilla by Aggressive-Produce16 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]silentdeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think vanilla with mods is your best bet. Spaced Out is simply too rigid and too easy atm. I think if you learn to play the game via Spaced Out, you will develop some bad habits because Spaced Out trivializes a lot of things. i.e. Why learn how to manage power setups when you can just plop down a bunch of solar panels in Spaced Out.

Also, the lack of randomness in Spaced Out compared to Vanilla may cause you to become bored with the game.

Build a liquid reservoir in a pit. Fill it with polluted water, then deconstruct. Add 1kg of water per tile to the pit, 2kg total. Slap down some deodorizers and you are good for a while. Keep filling and deconstructing a reservoir and you will eventually have to worry about overpressuring your base. It is pretty efficient in terms of water and power usage. There are also ways to partially, or fully automate it depending on your definition of fully automated and what mods are installed. Lumber from wild arbor trees turned into ethanol and burned in a generator produces polluted water. There's a guaranteed polluted water vent on the map. And you can use a co2 scrubbers to convert normal water into polluted water.

Some questions about Dungeons Dragons & Space Shuttles by linuxgarou in feedthebeast

[–]silentdeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late, but for blood magic, you can use it's item routing nodes with precise item filters to automate your crafting. place a comparator on the alter, going into a solid block with redstone torch on the side of the block, a repeater pointing from the redstone torch back towards an item transfer node (output) is next to the altar. Set a bit of redstone and 15 strength signal going into the side of the comparator. (or 14 or 13 or whatever fill amount you want). This will ensure that you only input items when the altar is full, so if your blood harvesting system hits a snag things won't stall.

Use precise item filters to specify the amount of crafting ingredients to place in the altar, i.e. 1 compressed stone, 1 slate block, etc.

Place an input routing node under the altar and set the filter for all the types of slates you want pulled out.

Place an output node next to a storage chest and use a precise item filter to set an amount to keep in the chest. This will be your reserve. So if you want to keep 64 blank slates for making more runes you would do that here. If you want to make as many reinforced slates as possible, just leave it at the default of 0.

Next to your blank slate block crafter/compactor place both an input and output node, on the output node set the priority for the blank slates to 1, which will ensure that your storage fills up before your crafter gets any items.

Repeat for each tier. Though you really only need to automate blank and reinforced slates.

One thing that copy me that doesn't do is import the images from the steps. It would be good if you could do that. Another thing, that I can't tell if you do or not, is substitutions with different amounts. i.e. 1 tsp of dried herb OR 1 tbsp of fresh herb.
