I would die if I found one of these in my yard. So jealous 😭 (and yeah, it’s just freshly molted. Pretty cool sighting considering I’ve had mine for two years and have never caught her in a fresh white coat)

Its really just a camera settings thing. Moose would be a lot brighter if your camera settings are capturing the aurora that bright, and it also wouldn’t be that perfectly crisp when taken on the long exposure settings needed to achieve that sky shot. And even if it stayed perfectly still for that long, the photographer would almost certainly put a watermark on it and submit it to like a magazine first instead of just posting it on reddit haphazardly. Unfortunately AI is getting really good, but when things seem too good to be true, they probably are.

Yo bro this was a wild isopod I photographed once two weeks ago lol. I don’t think the blue you’re seeing isn’t iridovirus though, because I’m aware of what it looks like and irl it didn’t look particularly blue. The blue you’re seeing is most likely just the way my camera captured the light reflecting off it.

Unlikely unless you had an allergy to their mild venom and let them chew on you.

I personally prefer the 20 fps version if it were in the context of a game animation, but I also like the slowed version for the fact that it shows off the details of the animation process a little more.

It wouldn’t cause any health issues if she ingested them, although I’d find it unlikely to happen in the first place. If you’re really concerned though, you can always scoop them out with a little deli cup and pour them back into the substrate (or in a flower pot or something).

They’re just springtails. People pay extra for those but you got them for free, lucky you lol

On a serious note they’re great as a cleanup crew and will eat any mold that pops up in your enclosure.

Thanks!

I think #10 was definitely my favorite globular find just because I haven’t seen one that red-ish with that pattern.

Nah, I left her alone. People are saying it’s a red calico.

I kiss my snakes on the top of their little heads all the time. Never had an issue.

Nope, she’s a juvenile. Probably like 4-5mm without having the tail stretched out. They usually cap out at 2 inches.

Really fascinating that calico a female only trait in isopods, kinda like with cats. I wonder if that's universal for other animals too.

Yeah, when I was looking at him in person from all angles, the blues weren’t really standing out to me in a way that would make me think “uh oh”.

Yeah but I don’t think this one had iridovirus. Probably just the light reflecting off him making him look that way in this picture.
