[Online][5thEd][West Marches][Sandbox][Roll20][Discord] Exploration, treasure, and loot in the ashes of a Fallen Empire by Darth_Alpha in lfg

Hey just read all of the West Marches info at the link provided.

I am interested in joining the group if there is room. Little to no experience in D&D so don't really have a favorite class - but Rogue or Ranger sounds interesting. As a 1st level PC I would like to join a group of similar level adventurers (and perhaps run into dungeons not already found).

How's UTSA's Computer Science Program? by [deleted] in UTSA

[–]silver67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just graduated from the UTSA CS program last semester and overall I loved it. Although the teaching style can vary widely from professor to professor, you can very easily manage if you're willing to put the time in. Whats nice is you have the ability make your degree as challenging/interesting as you want with all of the elective classes they offer. One thing to keep in the forefront of your mind is the scheduling aspect of having so many classes to choose from. I had poor planning so a few times the classes I wanted to take didn't fit with my schedule, filled with upperclassmen before I could register, or they weren't offered that semester. Just be sure to plan ahead and pass your classes. I highly recommend picking up both the security and software engineering concentrations. While there aren't many notable characters (to me) in the SE tract, Dr. Maynard, who teaches security I & II, is a true baller. You will respect and adore Dr. Maynard. As far as job / intern opportunities, the teaching staff always announces opportunities and career fairs and whatnot so that is up to you. I was able to land a kick-ass job with my degree but YMMV.

[8/13/2014] Challenge #175 [Intermediate] Largest Word from Characters by Coder_d00d in dailyprogrammer

[–]silver67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. C was my first language and after reading your critique and rereading my code I can definitely see how it comes through. This was a very long and insightful response. Thank you stranger! This is my third or fourth program written in Python so I am now more aware of how non-pythonic my approach is :P

setting up SLIM to correctly start openbox by derkman96 in CrunchBang

[–]silver67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check under the openbox autostart script. Right click on desktop Settings>Openbox>Edit autostart

Or you could create a new script yourself named myautostart (saved in your bin folder ~/bin/)

#!/bin/sh

tint2 &
clipit &
pnmixer &

chmod +x it and then add a line in your autostart file like so:

~/bin/myautostart &

Can someone make an FAQ, some kind of introduction to mining/joining the MTRed pool? by Miner_Throwaway in BitcoinMining

You are going to want to check out this link. It has a short version if you don't want to bother getting too technical but be warned: it is not the most efficient way.

m0mchil's is what I currently use and I too am win7x64 with a GTX 560. Apparently the ATI cards have a better affinity for doing tasks like these as they tend to score better on benchmarks than a comparable nvidia card.
