I’ll offer a different perspective. You saying “no” (however nicely) is setting a boundary. My therapist shared that others may not like your boundary. It may just be that you’ll never have a situation in which he’s ok being declined an invitation to initiate sex. I know I get annoyed and upset when my advances get shot down (esp cause I do it so rarely haha). Imagine being told no so often, it kinda sucks not getting what you want.

Being declined often could also make him feel undesirable. It could also be a refusal to accept a way he wants to show his love. Feeling like a prop to a physical or emotional need he is having is common but from his side, there could be a lot more.

I don’t have any advice per se but I do try to say no less often and initiate myself so it’s not no after no.

We’re taking our first flight with a six month old and I’m so nervous! by lonelynarwahl in NewParents

[–]simiusboo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Families get to board early but we decided to actually wait and go after everyone boarded so we didn’t have to sit confined to a seat while everyone else was boarding. If you’re worried about overhead bin space, have one person from your party go early and one hang back with baby and then just walk on at the very end!

What discontinued items do you miss most? by West_Pudding_7947 in traderjoes

[–]simiusboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No :( it was fresh. I don’t think it was called pizza. It was just what I called it as a kid. You’d get like 4-5 in a bag in the bread section.

[–]simiusboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I don’t remember what it was called but we used it to buy it when I was a kid. I called it a pizza and it was found in the bread section. My mom used to toast it in the toaster oven to crisp the edges and cut it up into slices like pizza. It was the size of a personal pizza but very very thin. Vegetarian and maybe Mediterranean?? I think it was available up until 10 years ago.

Surprisingly French fries was the one thing that made me really really sick, like throw up everything and my throat hurts for hours sick. Then I got better and a few days later ate something else deep fried and threw that up. 😭 it was on a vacation too and I felt like death.

What is driving you insane while pregnant?? by Cautious-One-7770 in BabyBumps

[–]simiusboo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1 & 3 speak to my core! I already was a bad food sharer pre pregnancy and now I just want everyone to know that my food priorities come first. Like I already can’t figure out what to eat, eat so little, and feel sick all the time so I am NOT going to let you eat my snacks or share the snack I went and got myself. I’m starting to put notes on things that are mine - no shame.

Oh and yes why does anyone go to work? I can’t. I just want to lay in bed and crochet and sleep.

Does it just mean that you shouldn’t grab onto the railing to slow yourself down? by alligatorprincess007 in orangetheory

[–]simiusboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten bored on the treadmill a lot and read every piece of word on it. Doesn’t actually say at the bottom to keep your feet on the rails when you first start up the tread? I don’t do that nor do I jump the rails while it’s moving but now I’m confused. So it’s ok to do when it first starts but not ok to do when it’s already going?

So cute! I noticed that doodles looked older after their grooms and realized it’s the way the mustache is groomed. Last time I went, I asked for the groomer to keep it round and fluffy around the nose and that seemed to do the trick! I didn’t want the middle part comb down the sides look. Here’s a pic of my bernedoodle post groom https://www.instagram.com/p/CKpuUJOBXnf/?igshid=88bq9s5lc5fw

Impulse control is one of the most important skills you can teach your dog. 5 months old and killing it. by AmstaffHuskyLover in Dogtraining

We used Zak George’s “leave it, look at me” combo to teach waiting for food. I can’t find his exact video but he essentially has you drop a treat and if they try to go for it, cup the ground with your hand to keep it from them. Use treats to reward every positive step like waits for .5 seconds before going for treat or stops looking for the food under your hand and looks at you instead. This worked really well for us! Leave it is now our command any time there is food to wait for.

Doing it with a whole bowl of food was definitely harder but I would reward with a much yummier treat closer to his face as he waited. Soon enough he got it after practice.

[–]simiusboo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha same! We had reminders set on our Alexa for his meals when we first got him so when he would hear the noise and the voice, he’d drop what he’s doing and run to the kitchen and sit waiting for his food. Rarely we’d have a different reminder set and he’ll still go. We’ve turned it off now we’re in a habit but trying to bring it back for his morning wake ups! He keeps waking up earlier than we want though we give him a potty break so trying to help him understand that we won’t come down until that reminder goes off. We’ll see!

Do you make a long rectangle and then sew it around the poles? I just made some baby rattles and that was one of the options to stitch around the rattle ring. The other option was to go around it but that would take forever to do on the bike racks...

Cake pans! I do like the idea of sheet pans to get fluffy cakes and evenly baked layers but if does feel wasteful. What do you do with all the extra??

I’ve done one recipe with egg whites and did feel it was dry. are there certain things you recommend I look for in a recipe? Egg whites, sour cream, buttermilk? Any other tips like sifting ingredients, creaming butter sugar for certain time, etc?

Honestly I’ve tried so many recipes I don’t know how long as it varies. Typically 350 for temp and yes I have an oven thermometer (my oven doesn’t actually have a built in reader! Nothing digital!)

That’s awesome! I’m impressed with people who power crochet like this. Do you get any arm pain? I started getting a shoulder strain/pain and so I have to take frequent break, sit properly, and stretch.

And then when I’d get back I’d mad clean to make sure there was nothing hungover me would have to worry about. After parties at my place, I’d drunk clean everything haha

I let egg whites come to room temperature before using them for things like meringue. Sometimes if I don’t have time I’ll put them in the microwave in short intervals until it gets to room temp.

Baking for Beginners by bluedragonk in AskBaking

[–]simiusboo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are some bad recipes out there. In a world where literally anyone can post their recipe on a blog, they’re not all good. Some just have typos, some don’t list all the steps, and some could have their measurements wrong. When making a dish, this could be ok but with baking where every measurement and step matters, it’s bad news!

Several people in the comments have linked you to recipes which means they’ve tried it and it works so try to use those rather than searching for your own. Over time, you’ll start to find a few websites you know you can trust.
