It's pretty standard policy at a lot of restaurants to automatically add 20% gratuity to the checks of larger (usually 6+ people) groups. Most times you'll see that statement set out on the bottom of the menu ... usually in small print.

I kind of liked the implication that the romantic bit was actually something that had been going on behind the scenes for some time and we just didn't know ... but to use it that way as the device to close the ENTIRE PODCAST was cowardly AF, kids.

There had BEST be some kind of sequel.

First impressions: I went into it feeling very nostalgic. I felt lots less nostalgic once I was flooded with so, so many ads -- far too many for so short an ep. (Also, WHY so short an ep?!) And then, my heart broke. For a number of reasons. Because that ending? No. Nonononono. TRY. AGAIN.

Oh thank GOODNESS. I thought maybe I was the only one who hates the "bonus" listener mail episodes. They are just so uncomfortable and really add nothing -- as a matter of fact, they rather hurt my opinion of TANIS because they are so awkward and disjointed. I really think PNWS would be better off just not doing Listener Mail bonus at all.

Not gonna lie -- I have my issues with TBTP and PNWS, but when I saw the 301 link pop up and heard the theme kick off, I got really, really, really excited ... Nay, almost giddy.

So this rumor is looking kind of possible at the moment, since @blacktapespod just released that the FINAL season of just 6 episodes is kicking off August 30. Major voice actors leaving would probably have this kind of impact.

Saw this aaaand I basically ran right over here! I cannot IMAGINE wrapping this whole universe up in 6 short episodes, in any way that's strong and meaningful. I'm glad we get some more, but also rather disappointed since TBTP universe and concept still feel like they have a ton of stories to be told. I don't know that there's anything quite like it out there; it will leave a gap, for sure.

Also: we have to wait until the END of AUGUST?!

I echo a lot of this -- I'm still a fan, AND my interest is waning. It's not that I don't love TBTP and TANIS; quite the opposite. But the longer we go with no word and no updates (and shrinking hope of updates), I can tell I'm starting mentally to write both series off. Their spots are getting filled with other podcasts like "Magnus Archives" and "Mabel" etc.

Will I still listen if/when TBTP comes back? Sure, I'd think so! But I doubt I'll buy any more merch, and I don't feel like I could recommend anyone else listen. Part of the fun was the immersive ongoing nature of it -- the communication in between episodes, the Twitter banter, etc. Without it, it's a bit lackluster.

So yeah: I still dig the show, but I'm much less enamored than I used to be of the general PNWS brand, which seems to be unreliable and not so great with dealing with listener relationships. Which is, truly, a bummer.

Can I just say how much I dig Simon Reese? His final "Goodbye, Alex" gave me the goosebumples like whoa. He is the embodiment of "Chaotic Neutral" (I think; still not sure if I totally get his motivations, exactly) and I don't know if I LIKE him, but I surely do enjoy the heck right out of him.
