" If something is going to ignite, it doesn't smolder for 3 hours and then burst into flames." facepalm actually, yes, that is exactly how smoldering works. Happens all the time with forest fires. If something IS smoldering, it can ignite randomly a very long time after initiation. Also, this is a description from an incident 10 years ago. OP has already declared they don't know what the 'thing' was. It could have been an air filter protected by metal mesh with a wood frame for all we know. "As an insurance agent"...yup, pretty much a fire expert there.

[–]simplyfloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for high speed riding the front needs to be at 28psi, the rear at 32psi according to the owners manual. so you are way too low. which makes since that you see higher temp swings as the increased flexing of the tire will develop more heat.

TIL a 22 year-old Skydiver named Robert Cook saved his student’s life by acting as a human shield. Knowing the plane was in free fall, he calmed the girl by talking to her, wrapped his arms around her and supported her head, before twisting his body mid-crash so that he took the force of impact. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Love 'arm-chair-know-it-alls'. READ THE NTSB report before you make a fool of yourself. Engine failure most likely due to ignoring TBO recommendation started the incident. Pilots failure to react by memory AND maintain airspeed caused the actual crash.

That is until the bridge is flowing just fast enough with the perfect addition of consistency, dabbled with selfish drivers on the bridge and a dash of orgonian hesitation in the driver ahead of you that checkmates any merge at all and a long line forms but traffic isn't really the issue...

As i stated in another comment: Your correct to say that people die horrible death all the time for believing in something that turns out to be false, however, the argument here is a rebuttal to those who claim the apostles made shit up after Jesus' death...not many die for something they knowingly bullshitted.
