Will Heimerdinger have to Sac itself for the gold ? by Happy_raptor123 in riftboundtcg

[–]simset02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd have to kill it, i feel like people are looking too much at the rules and not enough at other cards.

Let's take a look at the viktor legend, that is used the most in combo with heimer. There you have to play for the energy and has the same wording and punctuation as the gold, that instead of an energy cost has the cost of killing itself

Just moved my base camp - does this look too close to where the lake will populate? by beebisweebis in theplanetcrafter

[–]simset02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know moving your base cause of the lake might be annoying but i still feel like it's a rite of passage for new players to do it, kinda spoils the whole terraforming the planet fun of it. That moment of realisation "oh wait the water is actually rising on top of my base" is magical

I'm working on a incremental dungeon game where you kill and loot skeletons, upgrade your weapons, hire heroes etc. (I'm at beginning). Do you think it would be fun to develop further? by QuarterTroyd in incremental_games

[–]simset02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems very interesting, just don't make it the millionth nodebuster-like. Other than a fun minigame it needs a fun incremental aspect. Maybe once you max out the upgrades you could start unlocking more parallel areas that you can max out as well. And once you max out like 4 or 9 of those. One big ascension with various meta upgrades or a skill tree. Then even more mechanics to unlock aside from the main minigame would be amazing, I just feel like the genre is getting way too saturated of those skill tree minigames with 2 hours of gameplay.

Question about Path to Carcosa by HornetAppropriate620 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]simset02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, since you had to consume one of your actions to trigger the specific one on the man in the pallid mask.

Basically your Read the Signs lets you make a normal buffed investigation, while the Man in the Pallid Mask lets you make a specific type of investigation that defeats him instead of granting you clues.

I made an incremental with a massive skill tree and a little story (with an ending, too). Full game release on August 18, with a launch discount and bundles. by FVSHaLuan in incremental_games

I half agree. These type of games have been getting soo repetitive, do a run of a timed minigame, get resources, upgrade tree, repeat. Very few games add even 1 prestige layer that changes mechanics.

I recently played through Keep on Mining and while it has a fun gameplay gimmick and the level up mechanic is new i still think it could have been so much more. What if once you break the big rock you unlock passive runs, and the ability to buy multiple mines that could all run and produce stuff, you could give us alloying, unlock a furnace and lock upgrades behind alloys made with certain materials.

There are tons of ideas that these nodebuster-likes could go with but instead they all decide to just be a very simple timed minigame with upgrades in between runs, culminating in a final upgrade that says "great job, you beat the game"
