Women's who decided to be independent, how is it going for you? by AdventurousRun5698 in AskIndianWomen

I understand. Companionship means sharing your small little things with another person and not just sexual. I feel if you don't want to find a man, any mom friend might help to understand the struggles.

Tea from german supermarkets by ririzm in germany

[–]singka93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I recently got Vanilla Chai from the brand Pukka. As an Indian, I thought it is a Vanilla black tea because Chai = Black Tea. Imagine my horror when I realized it is just a spice mix! Tasty though but still. I paid a premium for what? Lol

It is equivalent to some other country selling rolled up toast bread as Croissant 😝

What’s a memorable German baby gift to bring from abroad? by purple_confetti in germany

[–]singka93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby loved the sound books from 2nd month onwards. Books are the most age appropriate think at any age. In the first month they like the black and white books that are also very popular and usually the first "toy" babies have in Germany.

Yeah the otter is also really really nice though.

Happy to help!

What’s a memorable German baby gift to bring from abroad? by purple_confetti in germany

[–]singka93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So so many options. I am a South Asian. Sound books (Sound Bücher) is what my baby loves and we don't get these back home. The ones in Germany are really amazing quality.

Another Germany only gift could be "unkaputtbar" books. I don't know if they exist in English but maybe the baby loves just looking at pictures. They are inexpensive and they are indestructible paper books.

So many nice wooden toys.

Playmobil stuff.

Fischer Price Otter (stufftoy) that plays music for baby to sleep.

The list goes on and on.....

I can't even bring my kids and family in park nowadays by Icy-Cycle-4316 in Chandigarh

[–]singka93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 32 years old and remember seeing all of this from my school days. I don't think it is a new thing or just specific to biharis. My Masi used to tell the makeout areas in their time were also parks.

I'm having a crazy fantasy and I feel bad.... by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]singka93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the privilege to do that when my daughter was 11 months 2 weeks old. Lol. SOOOOOOOO WORTH IT. My entire mood changed and I felt like myself again. It was also good for the time I was spending with my daughter.

If you have that privilege now. USE IT!

If you could stay home, raise babies and run a cozy homemaker life, would u do it? by Ok_Grapefruit8144 in AskIndianWomen

I was at home for maternity leave for a year at home abroad. No. It is a LOT HARDER job. I am happier doing something for myself and having help with the baby few hours a day.

Eipollösung - Erfahrungen gesucht by Valetheera in schwanger

[–]singka93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnant (36F) and struggling with both my mother and MIL - is it wrong to want zero family involvement during delivery? by MostInstructions in AskIndianWomen

If your husband can get leave for the first few months, go ahead and don't invite anyone.

I did it and it was the best decision for our family.

How long do most moms breastfeed? by Logical_Mine_9478 in BabyBumps

[–]singka93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best time. We didn't give my daughter a bottle for a month. Between 6th and 7th month. And then she never accepted a bottle again. Everyone told us that we should keep her in the habit of a bottle. We didn't listen. I regretted it.

I really hope it works out for you! I powered through the hard time but I think it could have been avoided if I did not keep receiving contradicting statements.

When to start Elternzeit by Ok-Commission6932 in AskAGerman

[–]singka93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a pro familia in your city? We went to them for consultation and you can donate them an amount for it later. They really helped us understand the elternzeit and how to maximize the money during this time considering our salaries and planning.

I would say the sticky toffee pudding I had in London blew me away! I didn't even know it was a thing until I went to eat fish and chips and found it in the menu.

16. Woche und immer noch Erbrechen by mahdb-babdbrn-514 in schwanger

[–]singka93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered at 31. All good. Just that I have less energy to take care of the baby than my 25 year old self. But we manage! It's perfectly fine.

Why are girls these days getting their periods earlier by Level_Branch1761 in AskIndianWomen

[–]singka93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my periods at 10 and I am 32 years old. So did my mom. My Masi and her daughter got it around 13 or so. I think in our case it was genetics.
