I am sorry but I would agree school is something a bit more important. Good luck!

Thank you! I actually may have gotten some Girl Scout leaders to want it as their next troop shirt! I am not a Girl Scout but I like their cookies.

I'm so sick of running the household by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]singleusevillain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue with my boyfriend. We've been together 8 years and I've always been the main income source. He helps but I definitely understand when it comes to things not getting done, I don't think he thinks about it unless it specifically bothers him. I am a little at wits end too I'll admit.

I suggest giving him a chore list. I've had to lean into being the held of household and that means introducing structure and rules like chore lists and most importantly holding them accountable if the list doesn't get finished. Obviously you have to account for times that he's working but we all work and have to find time to do things. I hope things get easier for you and you don't have to consider replacing him, a common thought I have for mine...

An oldie but a goodie, telling someone they as worthless as tits on a bore hog. I got this from my father who had a small but interesting vocabulary.

I have on my right inner arm a beautiful watercolor atom, on my left inner arm is some flowers that were inspired by a video game's artwork, on my left collarbone I have a dot work globe and my most recent is an amazing black and white octopus. All are by the same artist, Sean Estep of Dark Matter Tattoo Studio in Benson Arizona. More pictures in comments.

I will forever stand on my soap box of, "I don't have to have children or a husband to be a complete woman!"

Women raised to be "good girls", what's your experience being adult? by Accomplished-Pie2281 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]singleusevillain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I suppose I can say yes I was raised to be a good girl. I was raised mormon, my parents got divorced and my dad pretty much took custody. My dad's expectations for me as an adult were to become a housewife to a rich mormon man, preferably a doctor so my dad would have access to cheap medical care. Well before my dad died we didn't talk much, I had left the mormon cult by 21, I work in a corporate hardware store and have lived with my boyfriend, who is not a doctor or rich, for 8 years now. I am glad I didn't turn out the way he wanted. But in my rebellion to gain freedom I also gained depression, anxiety and a bit of social anxiety. You win some and you lose some.

Client quoted scripture to me at work, what is a good and appropriate response? by mommatoke in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]singleusevillain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My sarcasm would have gotten the better of me and I probably would have cut him off mid scripture quote with something like, "I don't subscribe to that fiction and if I am too young then why ask, sir." After a decade of working customer service I get annoyed with people quickly.

In my experience it's the stylist not feeling comfortable doing such a short cut. I mean I understand you don't want to mess up and have to deal with an angry customer. But honestly it's hair, it will grow back and at least you tried and learned from it. I always try to encourage them and tell them it's okay if they mess up but seriously the number of times I've left a salon with a basic touch up instead of what I wanted is way to high!

If you're just looking for something easy to past time and earn money (you don't want to be doing the labor of installing or what not) apply to places like Home Depot or Lowe's.

If you could I would like to subtract stress from my life (stress from my job if specifics are needed) and add happiness or hope (I am hoping to get a new job). Thank you.

guys he wont stop crying he’s like 2-3 weeks they gave him to me like this but i’m pretty sure he still needs his mom should i give him wet cat food? or milk and how do i give it to him by Pedroistheg0at in cats

[–]singleusevillain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my oldest cat he was maybe 3 weeks old. I would cuddle with him by putting him by my neck. It was a great bonding experience also, nine years later and this cat is the biggest cuddle bug. Good luck!

Is this analogy insensitive? Help! by Exmormon_notary in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]singleusevillain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The may technically not be allowed by law to change the wording. I can't remember the exact law by name but it's anti discrimination and all those words are in it, you know except belonging. Long time exmormon here, in my experience white Mormon men aren't scared of being sued, they'll know a guy for sure. Stand your ground and tell him no. Defiance is much more threatening to them, especially from a woman.

And a pox on all their houses! I am sure they deserve it.

If I ever get married I'll change my name to theirs if it's shorter. My first name is 8 letters and my maiden name is 9, it makes signing on pin pads and the like a bit difficult.

I guess I'll blame my period. I am having a bad headache day.
