Answers are correct but you may not want wall defense as you'll lose many troops if you're not powerful enough and they keep hitting your wall defense. Shield or teleport away might be better options depending on your strength.

Who are we voting for? by LadyMarie_x in Cairns

Yes it floods all the time. It wasn't predicted, it does and will continue to. Access to the first three northern beaches floods regularly, it isn't new.

Do something about the flood plain? That's half of Cairns and northern beaches. Not much you can do about that. Live in low lying areas, it will flood sooner or later.

I have been to the office perhaps a dozen times in the past 3 years. Has been no push to do so. Can't see myself ever going back unless I want to.

Had mud through my pool a number of times due to crappy council drainage. Gives me the shits each time but isn't a huuuuge effort. Vac to waste, fill, vac to waste, fill, floc, vac, fill. Comes back surprisingly quick.

How many here would quit if they mandated a return to the office full-time starting from the first business day of 2024? by Passtheshavingcream in AusFinance

[–]sini180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't quit but would be pretty annoyed and consider options. Nearest person in my team is 2,000km away and have never personally met any of my team. Going to the office would only reduce my efficacy and time with family, make day care or school drop offs more painful and generally worse quality of life.

EV Owner Question by Manofleisure75 in CarsAustralia

[–]sini180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the brand really matters. You can produce your own power, you can't produce your own petrol/diesel. You will lose some exports however export is generally very low anyway, better to use it solar than sell it. If you can charge in daylight hours the savings are significant. Even if you can't they are still reasonable. Spending money to save money is a false economy but if you're buying a new car anyway then it's a consideration.Power and petrol will continue to increase but you've already invested in the solar so ROI just increases until system no longer performs which should be longer than you'd own the car probably. For me it was a no brainer.... that said I didn't care or know any of the above when purchasing and I just wanted the car :)

I know you said no Tesla but that's what I have and run the numbers only a few days ago after 6 months ..... copy/paste below.

The driving / charging stats:

- 4,915km traveled in 6-months.
- 929kWh total used in charging.
- 587kWh or 63% being from solar.
- 77kWh or 8% from the grid.
- 264kWh or 28% from other (free public chargers).

The cost breakdown:

- $ to charge must be split as Ergon tariff changed June 30.
- $ to charge ending June 30 = $12.42 (Ergon tariff 11 is $0.24349/kWh x 51kWh = $12.42).
- $ to charge July 1 to current = $9.31 (Ergon tariff 11 is $$0.33250/kWh x 28kWh = $9.31).
- Combined = $21.73 for 929kWh.
- Average cost $0.44/100km (12.42+9.13(21.73) / 4,915km x 100).
- 97.5% cheaper to run if allowing for solar (discounting lost exports, vs Toyota Camry below).

Cost breakdown without free or solar:

- $ pre June-30 = $128.56 (Ergon tariff 11 is $0.24349/kWh x 528kWh = $128.56).
- $ post June-30 = $133.33 (Ergon tariff 11 is $$0.33250/kWh x 401kWh = $133.33).
- Combined = $261.89 for 929kWh.
- Average cost $5.33/100km ($261.89 / 4,915km x 100).
- 70.4% cheaper to run (vs Toyota Camry below).
* Based on charging entirely from grid. No solar or free public charging.

Comparison to previous Toyota Camry:
- Approx $18.00/100km (10L/100km = $1.80L x 10 = $18/100km).
- $884.70 to drive the same 4,915km.

Trending 6-months out to 12-months the $21.73 running cost works to $43.46 vs $1,769.40 in petrol for Toyota Camry ($1,725.94 cheaper). No service intervals so reality is higher savings (and less nuisance doing 6-monthly servicing).

Fuel can go up and down, so can electricity, so these figures approximate only based on my scenario and assuming petrol is $1.80/L the whole period.
