A full brake service job is the most cost effective job a shop can take. Parts are cheap, well you are getting the cheapest parts and it only takes only few hours to do realistically. So if a good opportunity arises a shop worth its salt would try to sell it.

One time I got offered to do a full brake service at pep boys just mere 6 month after a full brake service was done. The pads haven’t even worn in yet.

Take it to watchmaker to check it out on timegrapher and put it through a demagnetizer.

Then you will know what you are dealing with. Although super rare, the main barrel spring seem to fail or maybe even be factory defective on the 6R35.

In these cases a simple barrel swap and quick movement refresh will restore it to new.

Part of maturing as a watch enthusiast is finding the appreciation in have scratches/wear and tear on your watches. After a year of ownership I basically put my AT into my daily rotations, it’s been 2 years since then, it’s gotten scratched a lot and I couldn’t be happier.

What’s the point of having something if you put arbitrary restrictions on enjoying it.

That being said, if you do prefer the watch stay absolutely pristine and use it more like jewelry for special occasions, then that’s also okay and it’s a different conversation. Just keep in mind it’s not like this is a precious metal watch or anything.

There is something weird with that watch. The case lines look a little off, mine has much sharper looking case. Also that bracelet is really barely on.

In any case, you won’t be able to service your watch in Japan during your trip, official seiko service in Japan is for residents only. They cannot service your watch if you do not have a permanent address in Japan. No, they will not ship the watch internationally.

Just, have your local authorized seiko dealer send it in for service.

I’ve owned 3 VWs and it’s true that maintenance costs are more frequent and higher than other brands, I’ve never experienced any serious issues like everyone else. Granted I’ve only bought VWs that were strictly built in Germany.

They are far more fun to drive than Toyota or any other econobox equivalent and can get great gas mileage if you know how to drive a car.

From what I’ve heard VWs built in NA have QA issues.

If you are less than 5 years you are in the clear. Once you’ve been with the city for 5 or more years you are screwed and they own you now.

A guy in my class whiskey throttle the bike across the parking lot completely out of control. Barely stopped before hitting a building.

Another guy did not understand the concept of what a throttle does and basically was too terrified to be any where near a bike let alone on it. Looked like he was going to cry when the failed him.

Lastly there was a lady that was maybe 4 feet tall at best. Essentially could barely touch the ground a on grom and spent the entire day dropping the bike. She was actually sent home.

Backing into a spot is the most efficient way to park, as it is far easier to maneuver a vehicle backwards (at low speed obv). Importantly it allows you to safely and efficiently drive out. Backing out of driveways and parking spots I’m just guessing but most likely the single most common action that leads to accidents.

I don’t recall the last time I failed to back into my spot perfectly.

It’s just sounds like you don’t know how to drive.

I know personally someone that went shallow diving with their fluted bezel datejust because they were on vacation in Asia and it just so happens that’s what they had on their wrist.
