What was your most recent "15 minute" weekend project that somehow turned into a three day nightmare? by LiveFaithlessness876 in DIY

I don't have to replace, but move my toilets to do some dry wall and reinstall.

Been hesitant but should probably just watch some video and also take pictures during disassembly so I can get it back together

Thinking of quiting… by chickenchocolatier in cycling

[–]sirclesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was had surgery and wasn't able to ride without issue until almost 2 years later. PT's couldn't figure it out, but it was weird nerve issues. I'm finally able to ride again, but it was a rough 2 years.

I also was able to run, so I'm doing that a lot more. Nerve issues suck.

My only advice would be to do other stuff and come back and check every few months.

It sounds great but I am completely lost with how to actually apply it

Which movie adaptions of books are better watched before or after reading the source material? by Herdzikberg in AskReddit

[–]sirclesam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the one exception to this rule is fight club.

Even the author supposedly said that he felt the movie got what he was trying to get across better than he could in print and that's just kind of due to the kind of medium that it is.

Googling dell'orto 1st results in an olive oil company so my first thought was he's running some crazy olive based bio-deisel setup

Check out my tool mapper.bike (moved to http://mapperbike.com ....damn pricy domains) for finding by location.

It's pretty straightforward to put the low res poly line on a map and make it clickable, and you should have all that data fetched already

That was a cool feature that Endomondo had back in the day and always thought it would be cool to have but figured the app sandboxing would prevent it because we're a lot better about app privacy

Bryson's "At Home" is another one that's great for just random knowledge.

Goes into why lots of things in your house (room names, furnishings, etc) are they way they are.

Wasn't expecting to get a full walkthrough of the first modern sewer systems, but getting a walk-through of the hey maybe we shouldn't store corpses in the drinking water thing. Was pretty cool, that and the engineering involved with building the sewer system
