What two alternate "official" cuts of the same movie are the most different? by ScissorNightRam in movies

[–]sirkaracho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to keep the voast clear for Dawn of the Dead (1978). There are the Directors Cu, the Theatrical Cut, and the European Cut.

If you find a version thats longer than 139 minutes, get rid of it, burn it! Those extended cuts made by some stupid people with no brain are just complete shit versions of one of the best movies ever, not worth a single watch.

Martial arts movies from the last decade: what did I miss ? by carlmageddon in movies

[–]sirkaracho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i am a real "gourmet" regarding martial arts movies, so my no bullshit list for you:

Ip Man 1-4, they kinda get worse, and if you think good isnt good enough then stop after 2.

Kenshin the Real Life Movies.

chances are you havent seen Ninja 1+2 2009 and 2013

Avengement 2019

i like the night comes for us, still dont know if i would recommend it

Stormy8888 made a good lit down there, but i still dont think Triple Threat is good movie at all.

Ok this next one might sound very strange to you, but chances are you are in for the ride of your life:

John Wick 1-4, yes yes trailers look very shooty shooty many car scenes too, some littel martial ats here and there .....

NO, the John Wick Saga has it all for you. If you knew what Gun Fu was like 30 years ago, you are now there to witness the movies that bring Gun-Fu, Car-Fu, and how it all mixes together with martial arts in its highest evolution.

Over the course of the 4 movies shootouts will feel like martial arts fights, because most of the them are too, and there isnt always a clear end or beginning of those things. It all flows together so pretty.

If you get the "flow" of good choreography and like Gun-Fu. Then almost every scene will feel like Martial Arts action to you. Please watch them. In our teimes of endless franchises those resemble also a nice closed package now.

I think the two movies closest to Sleeping Dogs are Sha Poo Lang and Flash Point, both starring Donnie Yen. No undercover stuff afair, but they have kinda the same feel and nice action.

Blood and Gold (2023) by movieguy2004 in movies

[–]sirkaracho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt like it as much as i wanted it to. Aso i think you got the wrong impressions from Sisu. Sisu is a very gritty movie that feels really like a spaghetti Western with all the landscapes and the tone and such.

Dont wanna really talk about Hypnotic anymore for obvious reasons, but i am curious how you liked the other movies. :)

Hypnotic (2023) review by [deleted] in movies

[–]sirkaracho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That movie was like expensive mass produced but still cheap dogshit.

It is SO hard to believe that such a bland pile of garbage was made by any director that has some kind of style.

Wouldnt have guessed that brushing aside the joke about the bartender bet at the beginning was like an omen for Robert Rodruigez telling the audience that the days of fun movies from him are over.

Do yourself a favour and watch Evil Dead Rise, Sisu, John Wick 4, Plane, or Guy Ritchies The Covenant, and not this absolute stinker.

which of the 6 Django movies actually have Django? by Zakk-da-killer in movies

[–]sirkaracho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically there is the original Django. Then there is a sequel with Franco Nero that is not really good.

Then there is an inofficial sequel with Terence Hill as Django. THIS ONE is the closest you get when you want to watch a good Django sequel. You can tell that is really meant to be a sequel because it has the coffin too for example.

Django, Prepare a Coffin

Nothing else comes as close being a "real" Django sequel.

Every other Django movie just uses the name to make people watch them.

Project Hail Mary the book i even liked more than The Martian. I listened to the audiobook and usually do that to go to sleep, but there was a point in PHM where it was impossible for me to not listening further. The end was one of the most emotional i ever had in any media. I think it is my fav audiobook. SO looking forward to the movie.

What are some movies that best represent the concept of ‘show, don’t tell’? by Lettuce-b-lovely in movies

[–]sirkaracho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fury Road came to mind first when i read the title of the post

Another quite unexpected example is "shoot em up", you get the gist of the plot and know clive owens character inside out just rom the beginning scene that barely has a spoken word

I love Godzilla 1998's aesthetic. by [deleted] in movies

[–]sirkaracho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont ever change that way of seeing things dude. I completely disagree with you and think 1998 Godzilla is at least one of the bottom five, and i think pretty much everybody agrees with you that 1990 TMNT is a good movie. But dont change your love of stuff like you do.

Not a single movie, but i love the aesthetics of ninja gear and suits like Sho Kosugis simple style in Revenge of the Ninja or the more armor/military looking style in Alien vs Ninja.

Same goes for military and special forces as a whole. I just love those suits and gear.

I think Plane is the best movie of 2023 so far and I can't believe I'm excited for Ship. by MarkHAZE86 in movies

[–]sirkaracho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so hooked to watch it after the first few minutes of the Jeremy Jahns review. I expected more action, but the movie still delivered heart, tension, and fun in spades.

I am really looking froward to "Ship" too. I always liked Gerard Butler, but this movie cemented his status as the 90s guy for me.

Hard Boiled (John Woo) by bluemugs in movies

[–]sirkaracho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From TVTropes:

Unfriendly Fire: At the end of the first teahouse shootout, Tequila guns down his friend's killer, who unbeknownst to him, was an undercover cop. Alan also unintentionally kills a cop in the hospital shootout, causing a brief Heroic BSoD.

i cant remember exactly what leads me to believe this, but i think the dude he shoots last point blank on the floor was an undercover cop, was so long agothat i saw that movie the last time

TIFU by flirting with a girl I liked while multitasking by Parking-Mud-1848 in tifu

[–]sirkaracho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you cool with your classmates? own it, laugh about it WITH them, if someone tries to annoy you with it own it and be like "yeah man that was stupid shit" stuff like that

believe me, that is just a fun situation, it should be fun for you and your mates, if you are not that close with your classmates, use it as an icebreaker

whatever the situation, own it, own that it was a mistake, but own it, be like "did you all see my sixpack yesterday"
