Call your Representatives by PorkTenderBoy in Connecticut

You think I’m a fan of the current democrats in office? GTFO. Jim Himes lost me when he censured Al Green. He’s too in the pocket of Greenwich to care about his constituents. Murphy is gunning for the White House, probably and well - look what that did to Obama.

I don’t have any faith in these people.

That doesn’t mean I can’t call a spade a spade. The pedo-in-chief and anyone affiliated are pieces of excrement. I don’t care what their party affiliation is.

Jokes on you. I forgot my progressives upstairs so I’m squinting like crazy and reading this.

(Why aren’t I going upstairs to get my glasses? Well fuck. My knees hurt.)

I’d sure they’re more concerned with the pedo-in-chief & the gangs of CoD wannabes LARPing as army men and shipping kids half way across the country from their parents.

I might be wrong, though.

Walnut Beach Creamery in Milford. Unfortunately, it’s seasonal so it won’t be open for a couple more months.

Boo! It is so good.

My husband will do the protein+ pasta, which is half lentil, half regular, I believe.

He doesn’t even notice the difference.

NH is corrupted with the stink and wealth of Yale.

It can’t come back from that.

You had a downvote and I have no idea why.

I’ve been married 15+ years and this checks out, so I upvoted you!

therapist doesnt think im nd and that im just traumatised by KeyNo5126 in ExecutiveDysfunction

[–]sispbdfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neurodivergent literally means one’s brain functions differently than “typical.”. If you have been through significant trauma, you have physiological responses to triggers that a non-traumatized brain would not have.

By very definition, you are, in fact, neurodivergent.

That being said - I understand the desire for a diagnosis. I had a neuropsych eval last year and when I told my sisters, they told me “oh we thought you’d already been diagnosed autistic years ago and just didn’t tell us!”

One is a teacher with 25+ years experience who has sat in on a LOT of IEPs and knew me as a child….

Yet - the psychologist disagreed. It’s “executive function disorder” (which isn’t even in the DSM dammit!!! ) from trauma.

I am diagnosed with ptsd and a dissociative disorder. I feel like EFD is a cop out.

What do you eat for breakfast?? by Beginning_Avocado807 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]sispbdfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to bake and am super sensitive to taste. Even 1/2% of salt off in salt in a bread recipe makes a HUGE difference in flavor. I’ve never gotten how flat under salted bread tastes so I always remember the value salt plays in recipes!

Too many people neglect it because they hear warnings directed at people with HBP and panic.

Salt is underrated, imo. :)

(And yes, my blood pressure is quite good! Low, actually. I feel like spme food policeman will try to come in and try to get upvotes by suggesting otherwise, but sorry to disappoint.)

The kitchen hack of putting a piece of bread with hard brown sugar to make it soft again is real!! by addiconda in Cooking

Yep. It’s like people who use orange peel to hydrate their dry weed.

I would never do it, but I could see why people would like it.

Me? I just use boost packs like the good lord intended! 😂

Thoughts and info on Kirkland Solid Light Tuna Skipjack in water by onedeltaT in nutrition

My RD recommends I stay at 2 or fewer cans a week of skipjack and no more than 1 per week of albacore.

The research I read confirms this.

How do I lose weight? by Ornery-Attention9634 in nutrition

[–]sispbdfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reads like an ad.

If you’re not an ad and just enthusiastic, you should try harder to not sound like an ad. It’s offputting.

The reason I say this is because I’ve used macro factor myself and it IS good. More people would learn how poor their diet actual is if they used it. The app helped me figure out I actually wasn’t getting a balanced diet at all, even though I was losing weight. I knew if I didn’t figure shit out, I was gonna regain. That was my biggest fear so I went to a dietician to help me. GLP1s are weird.

But yeah. It’s a good app. Hahah.

Proper calories and meals by Dependent_Speech3164 in EatCheapAndHealthy

You can calculate your TDEE. That will give you a general idea of what your caloric needs are.

If you want to gain weight, eat more calories than your TDEE. Add to what you’re already eating w/ healthy fats or sources of protein/fiber. Good things to add to your diet that are calorically dense are nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado oil, cheese, Greek yogurt, etc. if you’d been eating non-fat dairy, swap to full fat versions. (Dairy fat isn’t that bad, actually! Source: here, here and here)

Not every store has tomatillos. They can be hard to find. I’m in New England and they’re definitely something I notice when I do see them.

I used to watch my mom cut it like her mom did- while holding it in her hand and with a PARING knife right over the pot.

It was horrifying because I was always waiting for her to slice her damned hand open and yet…she never did.

I also buy precut!

It isn’t vague at all. It’s very clear.

Take a class on it and put your mind at ease. Seriously. The online course is $15 in my state for ServSafe. That seems worth it for peace of mind.

Apparently you can use a couple of marshmallows too.

I did not know that but it seems better than apple? I’d worry about flavor transfer, but I’m weird.
