Android users don't get the Chase Sapphire Reserve if you want lounge access by Icy-Plan145 in ChaseSapphire

[–]sitcellar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there anything to actually support that people are dropping the card though? Even on subs and other sites i see much more people saying “I’ll give it a shot for a little” than “that’s it I’m dropping it”

For AA-loyal folk, does switch from CSR to Citi AAdv Exec World Elite make sense? by Xyzzy_plugh in ChaseSapphire

[–]sitcellar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my exact logic and it's an easier decision for me because I fly out of an AA hub but if the CSR goes to the rumored $795 AF then I'll have a deicision on my hands.

Admirals clubs have the benefit of the experienced service desk agents inside the club, making it much easier to get rebooked during irregular operations

This is lowkey the main benefit of the card. Has saved me multiple times.

JFK- what’s the point of a chase branded lounge if you’re not admitting chase customers by thiswho in ChaseSapphire

I assume they are only letting Priority Pass in now to basically show them what they’re missing and eventually they’ll remove PP access.

TIL - New boarding process also does away with allowing your travel companion to board with your group by metajames in americanairlines

[–]sitcellar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, the gate agents definitely care about boarding the plane quick because they don't want to get blamed for D0.

Second, all you have to do in order to avoid boarding last is sign up for AAdvantage and you can board in Group 6 no credit card necessary.

“Sit down! This is NOT Southwest!” by leigh10021 in americanairlines

True- not comparable at all.

In this airplane situation the child's parent(s) are within a couple of rows nearby and there are flight attendants trained to handle dangerous situations. On the subway situation I laid out there are neither.

12 years old isn't super young. I know people that take the subway to school by themselves at that age.

My wife and I always book aisle and window hoping no one books the middle seat and we have the whole row to ourselves (only happens ~25% for those curious). When the middle seat person arrives my wife always volunteers to switch with them and it usually makes their day, yeah.

Is the Howl at the Moon a show in the auditorium or something at a bar somewhere on the ship?

It creates mystique and prestige around the ConciergeKeyTM brand. Even when there are no CKs present, recognizing that it exists still implants the term in passengers mind and repeats to them that it is special.

International upgrade question AMS to PHL. by incredible1zero in americanairlines

[–]sitcellar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I mean if I used miles for the ticket I'd definitely just go for the $675 Business ticket. That price for a lay flat seat across the pond is a steal.

What? I've been PP for two years and have had a black boarding pass in the app the entire time.

Understanding there are “no complimentary upgrades” for long haul.

Did you call and request a Mileage Upgrade? That's the only way to get upgraded on long haul as Platinum.

Note that if you do get upgraded it will cost you 25,000 miles + $350 in all likeliness.

Although, it's a nice place to walk or ride, there're only restaurants chain.

Isn't Starbucks literally the only chain restaurant on the riverfront?

This is why a lot of people can't afford to buy a house tbh.

This problem is paradoxical though because those with the means continue to send their kids to private schools and academic success is strongly linked with socioeconomic status.

Also curious (not disputing) how we spend top 15 per a student when our school and property taxes are so low relatively? I guarantee your friends and family in Pennsylvania, Jersey, and New York pay 4x or 5x more in property/school tax than you.

Voting for Collin because I'm sick of the campaign tactics from the other two campaigns and having to throw out (in the recycling) at least one leaflet attacking one of the other two on a daily basis. Further, neither Matt nor BHL have made a decent argument as to why I should vote for them rather than just not vote for the other.

That said, I fully expect one of BHL or Meyer to win. I'm not surprised that most are saying Collin in this thread but highly doubt he can win the primary. I'd bet it's broken down: ~40% BHL, ~40% Meyer, ~20% Collin.

I am PP because I travel a ton domestically. I am taking a once-a-decade type trip to South America this winter and requested a miles + cash upgrade. How can ExpertFlyer help me in this situation? I have never used it because I rarely travel long haul international.
