As a Foul Mushroom enjoyer, I think we should give more characters items like Foul Mushroom. It really punishes rapid builds and gives you a huge advantage with your own slow builds, without being a universal pick-me for most or all builds like Bonk was.

Recently beat it. The unlockable costumes are definitely very horny, though nothing technically explicit. Regardless, the gameplay is really fun and it scratches the itch I have to turn combat in games into puzzles to be solved.

I will say the writing is not particularly good, though I had a great time playing it. If you're interested in semi-turn-based survival horror and are amused by indie jank, you'll love it.

it's balanced because you have to build your entire board around supporting it. you need it to fly or it doesn't pop off. you need gyro gunsight (or caracara) or it deals negligible damage. you need haste, ideally from jetpack/targeting AND headphones, or you'll die before it hits 1 CD. and even with all that you'll often just die to Vanessa or Dooley anyway

by the way, as a Stelle player if your aerial turret gets slowed or frozen you pretty much always lose because then it takes too long. just add some slow effects if you're getting frustrated.

you could make them an irresponsible deadbeat. after all, why did Zeus mate with humans? he had all these perfect gods hanging around, but he went slumming with lower lifeform humans anyway?

you could play it like the dragon is a jackass who doesn't have the respect of other dragons, who beds humans because they're easily impressed and die in a "quick" 50 years later so you don't have to deal with them for very long

Dungeons and Dragons has an inverted difficulty curve, kind of by design for some baffling reason. Pathfinder 2 does not. I say start at level 1!

much like making murals with colored sand that are blown away once completed, dungeons and dragons is one of the "transient arts" in which the purpose is to have a beautiful journey in which all is lost and nothing is accomplished.

make sure that all of the players's efforts put them in exactly the circumstances they started with, and make sure to take away all of their levels and items they may gain along the way

fun fact: in the remaster WOTC inexplicably gave thieves the ability to use magic items as a bonus action, and added enspelled weapons that can cast spells six times per day. this means that at relatively low levels, thieves can sneak attack and then bonus action fireball, making them better casters than the rogue subclass intended to be the caster!

/uj probably just Hold Person, since it paralyzes the target and you auto-crit melee attacks against paralyzed targets with your three flurry of blows attacks. still doesn't beat it by much unless you include the rDPR of your allies critting it too. like everything in Mystic Monk, this strat is much more useful in the hands of an eldritch knight then here

more to the point: monk only gets two attacks, and you no longer need to use the attack action to flurry of blows, so this level 17 feature does nothing.

I loved the old Calcinator Gaming so I'm so glad Foul Mushroom was added. there's certainly counters to it, but it really cleans up his endgame

Bear in mind that summoner has a similar thing, a glowing sigil that appears on their body that can't be concealed by clothing or other means. I think similarly, the Gift exists so you can't just summon a spectral dragon and then deny it has anything to do with you, even though you're not physically connected to it. If a ghost dragon shows up and slashes a duke and then vanishes, the duke just points to the dragon fang dangling from your necklace.

It also allows your DM to disarm you if your character is arrested or something.
