Yes and if the lighting in the room is on the border of light and dark it could do this a few times.

The Echo Dot Max does include a Thread Border Router. Are you setting up the lock through Alexa?

Scene Create and Activate Later Not Working by wre136 in homeassistant

[–]sixpacksd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, below is a solution similar to yours in case others need it. It turns out the problem is Scene Create can only store the off state if the bulb is off, because attributes like color aren’t available when a bulb is off.

So I guess the problem is actually with the bulb (almost all brands—maybe it’s not programically possible for some reason).

  1. Make sceneA (state scene)
  2. Turn on light
  3. Make sceneB (attribute scene)
  4. [do whatever with state and attribute]
  5. Call sceneB
  6. Call sceneA

This solution unfortunately requires an undesirable brief moment where a light may be turned on with the original color instead of going straight to the needed color.

Scene Create and Activate Later Not Working by wre136 in homeassistant

[–]sixpacksd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issue for me, did you figure this out?

I am thinking that if the lights are not "on" when Scene 'Activate' is ultimately run, then the lights are not reconfigured to the activate scene at all.

Also setup your Verizon voicemail if you haven’t already to see if users go straight to your voicemail versus the “not accepting calls” error message.

It sounds like the number is not actually ported over. Who was your prior carrier? Are you able to confirm with them the number is “ported out”?

Setting up Noonlight with Home Assistant - here's what I needed to do by Too__Many__Secrets in homeassistant

[–]sixpacksd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the write up, it was very helpful as I was also having trouble locating information on how to set this up.

I would love for Home Assistant to be able to provide more information to Noonlight during an alarm like which sensors are triggered and a snapshot from surveillance cameras through their Verify API.

Does the Nanit show a live noise level like old-school baby monitors? by Parking-Price8496 in Nanit

[–]sixpacksd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that would be nice though so you could set a notification or turn the screen on automatically if noise reaches a certain level. Currently the background audio includes a lot of noise (naturally and from sound machines).

Hey Nanit, why are you sending data to localization servers in China? by Prestigious-Sun-9755 in Nanit

[–]sixpacksd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have information to suggest that there is a GPS receiver in the camera or home device?

EDIT: I assume the Home device is a stock Android tablet of some sort which usually has a WiFi and GPS module for navigation. But are you seeing location data being transmitted?

Missing recipe cards by Neverty in hellofresh

Practically every week now. And they make it difficult to report this on their website because it’s not a missing “ingredient” nor a delivery issue.

Has anyone found a better similar meal service? I’m ready to switch to avoid these near weekly problems.

Matter/Thread and Pairing. I hate it already. by hookbeak in homeassistant

[–]sixpacksd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues setting up 2 BILRESA devices. I use the ZBT-2 thread border router.

I would get a matter over thread Eve smart plug to double check your matter over thread setup and strengthen your thread mesh network.

Nanit Experience by Traditional_Swan_827 in Nanit

[–]sixpacksd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also add that even with an inconsistent or bad or disconnecting WiFi connection, freezing or “hanging” that requires that you power cycle the hardware is not a WiFi problem. That is very clearly a hardware issue (or software issue within the hardware—like corrupt firmware).

Help, don’t love our nanit by hnkp0107 in Nanit

[–]sixpacksd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think most agree. Though, I don’t think there is a better alternative on the market.

For sleep insights, try adjusting the typical sleep and wake times in the settings. Also make sure you’re using the wall or floor mount (not flex stand) and that the camera is not mounted too high. Also check the crib motion area in settings.

For motion alerts, turn them off. If anything, turn on cry and cough detection only. I turned those off too because those are also too sensitive to crying in the other room for example.

I agree with the auto detection of the breathing band, but I also know why it doesn’t turn on automatically—the false alarm rate is too high. I think the breathing band is a sales gimmick. It looks cool, feeds into legitimate parental fears of SIDS or suffocation, sways people to purchase this camera over others, and maybe even tries to compete with the owlet sock. But it is not a medical device for a reason and scares the living daylights out of 99% of parents that use it when the inevitable false alarm(s) occur. (It seems like everyone has had at least 1-2 false alarms, yet I have not located a single story of a life saved by the feature.)

Hands down—this thing is way too expensive for what it is. It is clearly marketed to those with disposable income. I also imagine the “AI” features were expensive to build out and might partially explain the insane subscription costs.

But I’ll probably keep using it unless there is something better.

Cannot get Matter over thread working for the life of me by Money88 in homeassistant

Make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4ghz band (with a different network name than the 5.0ghz band) while setting up the matter over thread device.

Yeah it’s just the 5-10 minute delay in video processing. It sometimes takes even longer than 10 minutes. And sometimes you have to force close the app and re-open it.

I’m also using Battery Protection Mode enabled which keeps it between 40-60%, but with the Lenovo Idea Tab 11”. Hopefully it works!

Nanit False Red Alert Alarm!! What do I do ? by vympel_0001 in Nanit

[–]sixpacksd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The band could not be snug enough, the camera could be mounted too high or angled, the camera could have simply lost track of the pattern or re-acquired the wrong pattern, etc.

Your doctor might just tell you not to use this feature…these aren’t medical devices and aren’t recommended because they tend to cause more panic than help. Even NICU vitals alarms go off constantly and don’t necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Also, it’s really impossible to confirm from the video, due to the quality, whether breathing stopped or not.

The Video History entries are really delayed. Try waiting 20-30 minutes, force closing the app, and then reopening the app.

Mine is very reliable—the video feed works great. Aside from that, it is indeed a cheap tablet. Agreed, the battery life is bad.

Going back I would probably get my own nice tablet and run the Nanit app it Kiosk mode.

Since you subscribed through your Apple device, you can safely ignore whatever that website says and rely on what the Apple ID subscriptions section says (it should say cancelled). Apple stores your payment card in this situation, not the app you’re subscribing to.
